Making up as you go along?

From Barbra Streisand’s personal website: Trickle-Down Immorality

The president is our leader, the figurehead of the country, a father figure. Are the “children” supposed to follow his example? Are we in an era of trickle-down immorality, like trickle-down economics? The country sees their leader not telling the truth. These actions send a message that you don’t have to mean what you say, that you don’t have to care about other people, that you can do whatever you have to do or say whatever you have to say to get ahead. Is that the message we want to impart to our children? Is that the culture we want to live in?

Consider the following:

“…she headlined concerts which raised millions of dollars for each of the successful presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton.” Barbra Streisand Biography

“In the weeks prior to the Nov. 3 General Elections, Barbra Streisand became deeply concerned that the scandal surrounding the president was “being used by the Republicans to divert attention away from important issues like a patients’ bill of rights, environmental protections, and saving social security.” – Online Journalism Review 11-06-02

“American entertainer Barbra Streisand has sent a fiery letter to leading Democrats attacking President Bush and defending Bill Clinton. ” BBC News

So, she supports Bill Clinton, obviously – and yet, she states she cannot support a President who (she claims) lies to the public, deceives and sends a message to children that it’s ok to say what you want to get ahead.

She claims George W. Bush has done these things.

We know Bill Clinton did these things – - plus, he admitted as much.

And yet . . . she still manages to take herself seriously.
