Back When Some Celebrities Were Men

We have heard much in the last few months of the wacko behavior of “Hollywood types” regarding the war in Iraq. Sean Penn made a complete fool of himself in visiting pre-war Iraq. The Baldwins continue to spout off, but predictably do nothing to back up their words. I heard the tail end of Sean Hannity talking with Ed Asner on Sean’s radio show the other day as Asner proved to be as dense and clueless as the character in the only role he has ever had as an actor: Lou Grant.

I cannot watch a movie or television show now that includes any of the above or their many like-minded brethren without thinking “These guys are empty minded!”. Many of them would have benefited earlier in their lives from the real world maturity military service gives to young men.

All this activity by the modern brainless celebrities has overshadowed the fact that we have had in the past some celebrities who were men and acted like men. The recent death of Bob Hope brought this point to mind.

I completely agree.

Bob Hope did so much for the troops – - and now, after his recent passing, the liberals are trying to discount everything he achieved through the USO.

Bob Hope and other’s like him were indeed celebrities who were real men – - and for that we can be grateful – - and also for the fact that there are still some real men living life in La-La Land.
