They said the investigation, known as “Operation Rollback,” involved allegations the contractor had recruited illegal immigrants, mainly Eastern European nationals, to work on cleaning crews at the stores for the world’s largest retailer.
Two officials initially said about 300 workers had been arrested at 61 stores in 21 states. But the officials later revised the numbers and said about 250 had been arrested at some 60 stores. They said investigators were still pursuing at least 50 workers.
The latest arrests stemmed from two prior investigations by federal immigration officials involving contractors and Wal-Mart stores, one in 1998 and the other in 2001, the officials said.
This should not be called “Operation Rollback”, but rather “Operation You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me” or “OYGTBKM”
5 Years? 5 Years? This is much to long to simply arrest 250 illegal immigrants.
These same agents could have gone to California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico or any other state and gone to the areas where known illegal immigrants gather and round up 250 plus in less than a couple of hours. Now let’s think about that and then do the math on how many illegal immigrants would have been caught within the same amount of time as five years.
