Dean – I’m No Draft Dodger

Howard Dean shot back at insinuations he was a draft dodger, saying a high school back injury was serious enough to keep him out of military service but not severe enough to make him miss out on a normal life.

Armed with X-rays and a letter from his physician, Dean said he took a military physical in 1970, only to be classified as ineligible to serve, the candidate said.

I knew it was a matter of time before he would start with these types of statements.

However, did he forget having said this?

Dr. Dean got the medical deferment, but in a recent interview he said he probably could have served had he not mentioned the condition.

“I guess that’s probably true,” he said. “I mean, I was in no hurry to get into the military.”

Did Howard also forget that 10 months after his graduation from Yale he spent his time being a ski bum in Aspen, Colorado?

Did he also forget he took odd jobs in construction, such as pouring concrete.

How bad was that unfused vertebrae, Howard?
