Lewinsky Denied Reimbursement of Legal Fees
Former White House intern Monica S. Lewinsky is not entitled to be reimbursed for $1.1 million she spent in legal fees related to an independent counsel investigation of President Bill Clinton and his affair with her, a federal appellate panel ruled today.
I guess I should feel sorry for her? I mean, if it were ME, I know I wouldn’t have an extra $1.1 million dollars hanging around to pay high priced lawyers with. That would be an extreme burden on me.
And yet . . . .
If it were me – I wouldn’t have put my deep throat techniques to work in the Oval Office with the President, either. So I guess I wouldn’t need to come up with that $1.1 million after all. Whew!
Why is personal responsibility such a hard concept to grasp, for some? Why should American tax dollars go to reimburse Lewinsky for her legal battles? Did any of us put her in that position?
Lewinsky’s assertion that “there would have been no investigation of her conduct had it not involved the President,” noting that the independent counsel’s office had argued that Lewinsky was accused of lying about her affair and perjuring herself.
Umm…well, it did involve the President, sweetie. And not one American taxpayer is going to help foot the $1.1 million dollar bill to help support it. That’d be too much like pimp fees.
How did the fat bitch manage to spend $1.1 million on a perjury defense? She must have hired a media glitter whore instead of a real lawyer. I’m sure a real lawyer would have done it for ten grand. That’s about what a compentent criminal defense runs here in Miami.
I suppose it’s all a little tough for her to swallow, but that’s ok because she’s a professional
Whoa Nellie!
Hmmmmm, now if she told the truth in the first place…
Hmmmmm, how come she didn’t get reimbursed by her paramour?
Alfredo, that is because “It wasn’t sex”
…with that woman…
