Whining Willie

Nelson pens protest song

Willie Nelson woke up early Christmas morning at the Lake Elsinore, Calif., home of his in-laws and turned on the news.

“There was nothing but bad news, and here it was Christmas Day,” Nelson said. “I said, `There sure are a lot of babies dying and mothers crying,’ and (wife) Annie said, `That sounds like a song.’ ”

By the end of the day, Nelson had written the anti-war ballad “What Ever Happened to Peace on Earth,” which he will debut at Saturday’s fund-raising concert for Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich at Austin Music Hall.

Sounds like a good question for Saddam, now that we have him in custody.

Question #1 – Tell us about the WMD’s.
Question #2 – Where’d ya hide the money?
Question #3 – What ever happened to peace on earth?

Willie Nelson – - yet another sympathizer and appeaser who thinks Saddam should still be in power with ‘a lot of babies dying and mothers crying’ in the streets of Baghdad.

  1. Okay not like this has not been said before, how stupid are these idots. Saddam killed over 300,000 people, and would be killing more if we did not go over there. OOOH these people make me soooo mad!!!!!!!!

  2. The Fighting Kentuckian

Let me get this straight. We fight a war to stop a monster like Saddam and free a people and it’s “babies dying and mothers crying”. But when Saddam or some other creature like him terrorizes and murders it’s all right. Take your blinders off you morons!!

  3. Well, so much for the “justice like it oughta be”-anthem of “Beer For My Horses” he sang with Toby Keith.

  4. Willie will do anything for a buck. Oy, spare me these elitist whiners.

  5. I playin’ the worlds smallest fiddle for you Willie. Remember, Willie’s supporting a guy who wants to replace the Department of Defense with the “Department of Peace”. Hey Willie… YOU SUCK!!!!

Thank god you and your pacifist morons aren’t in charge of our national security.

  6. Hey Willie stick to your weed and stay the hell out of politics. Yeah we should listen to a guy who has been stoned most of his life.

  7. Well Willie, you just went the way of the dixie chicks. Why couldn’t you just stick to music. There goes my CD of Willie with Johnny Cash.
Oh well, Willie never was too bright, always had one foot on the curb and the other in the gutter, now please dont’ find something out about J.Cash, Ive grown quite fond of my Man In Black hat

  8. I remember him when he hang(hung?) out with the Hell’s Angels. Gee Willie, what happened to your “manhood”?

  9. Repo’d by the man for back taxes…

  10. I do indeed remember Willie’s troubles with the I.R.S. and I know he certainly did commit some Tax Frauds (gee I wonder if he did that for the purpose of avoidance of paying for the Military).

I would not be suprised if that is what it was. The IRS should have thrown his buns in Jail but instead they let him release an album called The I.R.S. Tapes and he dedicated it to the IRS having all royalties from it go to them.

  11. You know there was a time when old outlaws would write songs lamenting the use of drugs and booze, and those were good songs and people love them. once you start putting a political message to your music, you start sounding like Bob Dylan and Tracey Chapman. their not bad, mind you, but I don’t always like their songs… come on willie stick to what you know and don’t aid foreign dictators… still like your old music, just want the old willie back.

  12. I agree, Madbarr! Not that there’s anything wrong with writing personal, current music reflecting issues dear to your heart, but when it becomes public consumption and a marketing issue, you DO have to keep in mind what your prospective fan would like to hear rather than what you would like THEM to hear. And what’s wrong with concentrating on a good beat and a fun tune primarily?
