McAuliffe Won’t Return as Head of DNC

Terry McAuliffe, who rose from Syracuse politics to lead the Democratic National Committee, will quit the chairmanship when his term expires next year.

And there was much rejoicing……Yaaay.

  1. He’s tired of losing. The Democratic party will get clobbered in November, and at that point they will need to do a reset. It will be interesting to see how much more moderate they re-invent themselves to be. Lets make sure we increase the majorities in the house and senate so that Bush can continue to push through his agenda. I personally can’t wait for tort reform.

  2. As if it would look bad if he quit now?

  3. WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! let the Vast Right-Wing Conspirators REJOICE!!!! NANA NA NA, NANA NA NA, HEY HEY HEEEYYY GOOOD BYE!!!

    Hey Terry good ridance!!!

  4. I don’t know if this is such good news. On the one hand he was a moderating influence on the party so it’s bad. On the other hand his moderation might have gotten more Democrats elected, so it’s good. On the other hand, his track record shows that he is actually very poor at getting Democrats elected so it’s bad.

  5. In that case, I take it as bad. Moderation to me sounds like compromise, which is a bad thing, plus I have my personal doubts as to how moderate Democrats truly are. I don’t think they’re so much moderate as they are sneakier than the more overtly liberal Dems — jmo.

  7. Whoops…sorry about the quasi-double post there. I was trying to change the word “bad” to “good” in the first post, but I guess that first post got away from me. :(
