Clark Takes Howie’s Lead

Clark Emails For Funds

Wesley Clark asked his supporters Thursday to contribute to his campaign one last time so he could close out the books.

In a mass e-mail Clark wrote.

“So that I may properly transfer the incredible support, energy and resources of my campaign to the eventual Democratic nominee, I need you, one of my most loyal and generous supporters, to help today. Your personal contribution of $50 or $100 right now will help us close the books on my campaign and will allow us to focus our complete attention and resources on the great challenge ahead.”

He needs to get rid of of his campaign debt in order to “transfer the incredible support, energy and resources of my campaign to the eventual Democratic nominee“?

That’s just ignorant.

  1. and hand picked by Bill and Hill!

  2. Is this a new trend of the losers?

  3. Hey I need help paying my electric bill, make donations at letspayhisbill.net. is this a normal practice? for supporters of a candidate to pay for his loses? Never heard of this, I’m going to look it up, if the answers aren’t posted by the time I find them, I’ll let everyone know… *scratching head, pencil in mouth* hmmm…

  4. OK, I got this information from the Federal Election Commissions website, although it doesn’t necessarily address a candidate who withdraws his candidacy it may cast doubts on the legality of Clark and Dean requesting more contributions for their debts as related to their perspective (and failed) campaigns… unfortunately I don’t speak legalese, so if someone could translate this for us it would be much appreciated…

  5. Why don’t these Democratic nominees just raise taxes to compensate for their campaign debts?

  6. because they can’t use tax money to pay for their campaigns… ethics issues… plus Clark and Dean do not serve in a representative capacity for the people, so even if they could use tax money for that purpose, dean and clark would not have any access to the funds… I hope this helped… Although you were probably just asking a hypothetical question I could resist… :o )

  7. oops, I meant I couldn’t resist

  8. madbarr- you must be a bit quicker on the humor here, but I did e-mail the link you gave to some people!
