Jean-Bertrand Aristide files a lawsuit stating he was kidnapped
Ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide has filed a lawsuit against unnamed French and US officials, accusing them of kidnapping him.
Aristide left the country a month ago, as armed rebels were marching on the capital, Port-au-Prince.
He has repeatedly accused the Americans of forcing him into exile. Both the US and France had urged him to stand down.
Washington and Paris say Aristide agreed to leave Haiti and voluntarily signed a letter of resignation.
Aristide initially went to the Central African Republic and is currently in Jamaica.
Aristide is still giving speeches in which he states he is the President of Haiti. If he believes that he was kidnapped then why doesn’t he simply pack his bags and return?
Someone needs to give this guy a dictionary to study while he spends his days in Jamaica so he can look up a few words:
kidnapping – - so he will know what it means
resignation – - the paper he signed of his own free will
fleeing – - what he did in the middle of the night to escape Haiti
exile – - where he’s at now
Like I said before…give him a military escort back and leave him there!
