Blunt: ’9-11 Commission Turning Into Comedy Central’

Partial transcript of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”:

Jon Stewart: “Can you give us the first question? Listen, I’m Cheney… hit me, hit me … what have you got?”

Bob Kerrey: “I mean … is there a question that you want me to ask?”

Jon Stewart: “Yeah, I got one. What the [expletive deleted] is wrong with you people?”

Bob Kerrey (laughing hysterically): “Yeah, we’ll do it.”

The idea of Kerrey going on The Daily Show and completely minimizing the very important role this Commission is SUPPOSED to play, makes me nauseated.

Is there something humorous about the Comission, their duty and responsibility? No – Kerrey is using this opportunity to politicize his charge.

I guess the Commission has taken on a comedic tone of it’s own the way it’s been very obviouslly politicized from the very beginning. The idea that the Commission is non-partisan, un-biased and objective is probably the most hilarious thing I’ve heard in a while.

So, I guess Kerrey belongs on the Daily Show, getting a few laughs and jabs. It’s where the guy belongs.

    For Kerrey to do something like this is sad – - It’s a sad display on his part – - where are all those who blamed Bush for 9/11? Why aren’t they all over Kerrey for “making fun” of that horrific day in our history. Oh that’s right, it is all the libs that went after GW and they probably just snickered along with Kerrey.
    Pathetic.

    this commission successfully nuteured it self when it allowed Jamie Gorelick to remain on the commission… she was probably the one person responsible for the lapse in communication between the FBI, CIA, and regular law enforcement… via a memo she and RICHARD CLARKE drafted during her tenure as the ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL under Janet Reno (who was described as just a figure head at the time) so Jamie was running the AG office…
    so letting her stay on the commission instead of testifying before them is a travesty of justice and she needs to be removed… and tarred and feathered, but that is completely optional… I would help heat up tar. HEEEE
