If you don’t believe in women being leaders of business, politics and the arts, you might just want to steer clear of Kansas City entirely. Activist group Beauty Slays the Beast is tackling both subjects in an all-day fun-fest that sports local bands and artists, an art auction, speakers, voter registration, film screenings, a burlesque crew and a dunk tank featuring “W” and Dick Cheney.
KC Ladies Unite to Oust the Radical Right in an all-ages, all-day festival featuring bands like The Gaslights, Raising Grey, The Black Rabbits, The Shebangs, The Stretchmarxxx, Sister Mary Rotten Crotch and more; film; speakers; art; food and drink; games; silent auction; raffle; and more! All proceeds go to Moveon.org.
