At this convention, like any other, the best way to find celebrities – of the political or real celeb variety – is to look for the pack.
And while this DNC is only a day-and-a-half old, I’d say a full half or two-thirds of the packs I’ve happened upon have featured that round, smiling, huge-glasses face of Franken.
Just now, as I wandered past radio row and was one of about a half-dozen reporters talking to Madeline Albright (yes, the very accomplished former secretary of state), we were overrun by a pack of reporters walking alongside Franken. It was so funny, it wasn’t even funny anymore.
When at a political convention of this magnitude has Al Franken being searched out more by the media instead of someone like the former Secretary of State and ask him questions about health care reform, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, war on terrorism and everything in-between – - I agree with the writer of the article. It isn’t funny anymore.
I would have to say Al Franken is more competant on Foreign Affairs on or off his meds than Madeline Dimbulb ever was.
The whole piece just points out how weak the Democrat party is in ability to lead and govern the country, just not in the way the writer had in mind.
Just a side note, is anyone else besides me a bit bothered that the DNC, and perhaps the RNC is allowing Aljazeerah a spot at the convention?!
The DNC ordered Al Jazerrah’s banner taken down. So much for free speech.
Is that pizza shop owner’s sign torn down yet? The City of Boston Democrats tried to get the owner to cow via fines from the city. Hoffa is in town with his union goons. I’ve seen them in action here in Dubuque. They lost organizing a Window and Door factory so they’re running to the NLRB to have them force the place to be a Teamster Union shop.
Dee,
Don’t hold your breath about Al Jazeera getting one small foot inside the RNC convention.
