Kerry Insists They lie

By: Reilly On: Aug/20/04 - 15 Comments

And then blames Bush for the whole thing

John Kerry yesterday accused Vietnam veterans who say he didn’t deserve his combat decorations of lying and blamed President Bush for not denouncing their television commercials laying out their charges.

After two weeks of ignoring the commercials, Mr. Kerry denounced them as “lies about my record.”

“They’re a front for the Bush campaign, and the fact that the president won’t denounce what they’re up to tells you everything you need to know,” the Massachusetts senator said. “He wants them to do his dirty work.”

The veterans said they will run the commercials regardless of what Bush says, and one of them.

When Kerry doesn’t get his way or the opposition does something that has direct impact on his campaign he comes out whining and blaming President George W. Bush.

These Veterans have stated several times if Kerry were running as a Republican – - they’d be doing the same thing. Why would they be doing the same thing? Because Kerry is lying about his service and they want our nation and the world to know.

I’m not sure who hasn’t seen the ridiculous snip from Kerry’s speech yesterday where he is quoted as saying to GW: “If he wants to have a debate about our service in Vietnam, here is my answer: Bring it on.”

Hasn’t anyone told him that phrase used in the political arena was done first by GW and anyone using it after that, well it’s just pathetic.

Then to further show Kerry’s true colors – - The White House, yesterday, stated that President Bush is not attached to the ads and brought to light that Mr. Kerry has been approached, without success, to put an end to ads paid for by soft money that organizations are creating. Of course Kerry wants no part of this because he likes that $62 million dollars in negative / false ads have been launched against President Bush.

It’s time for John to suck it up. He can either deal with it or put an end to soft money attacks, but he can’t have it both ways.

All Kerry has to do is sign the Standard 180 form to let the DOD release all his Vietnam records. Let anyone and every one compare the records, especially who submitted the reports, and compare them to the stories being told.

We know Kerry lied about being in Cambodia in Christmas of 68 listening to Nixon denying we were in Cambodia. (A. Nixon wasn’t in office in 68. B. Kerry wasn’t in the Navy when Nixon did make the statement.) Kerry removed all his records from his website that proved he lied about his Christmas 68 story.

Who’s more honest about their service? Bush.

The truth really hurts Kerry. He’s calling for a book ban now. What ever happened to the Liberal, first amendment at any cost? Oh, I guess that is only when nonliberals get hurt.

Why should Bush denounce the TV commercials? Was Bush there? Does he know what happened more than the vets that were there?

These people have a right to say what they want and I don’t think that Bush could tell them to knock it off even if he wanted to. Doesn’t he have to keep a separation between himself and the ‘independent’ voices?

That’s like asking Kerry to denounce the Move on TV Spots… just silly and it’s not going to happen…

doubletakebill, i’m not sure which moveon.org ad you’re speaking to, but Kerry did denounce the one about Bush’s national guard controversy.

It’s the one with the bag over the head of the Statue of Liberty and asked why Bush allowed Rumsfeld to initiate the Abu Ghraib prison torture.

It may have only been shown in limited areas…

    Thanks. I’ll check into it.

hmmm… I guess I find it interesting that he denounced the one just released and has been silent on the other. (I’m guessing he has) I mean, once he feels the heat of the Swift boat guys, this ad pops up and he denounces it. It’s a way of trying to get Bush to denounce the Swift ads…

I think Kerry’s got nothing to loose by taking the high ground. It’s a good move on his part. Moveon.org really can’t stop the ads now can they? I mean, wouldn’t that show some sort of connection between Kerry and the Moveon folks? I’m thinking that could be seen as some sort of violation of the org being independent from Kerry…

In my last sentence, I meant to say:

I’m thinking that could be seen as some sort of violation of the org NOT being independent from Kerry…

doubletakebill, i agree we can’t know the conspiracies or calculation that goes into making these decisions. they could say nothing like the President, an implied act of support, or denounce it, knowing it’s just for p.r and really wishes it would run 24/7. this game is not a tea party unless there’s a bunch of automatic weapons at the tea party.

    Shiloh,

Conspiracy may be a bit strong, but certainly calculation in every word either side says.

Not sure I understand the automatic weapons comment???

weapons at a tea party: even if it appears to be a civilized function – behind the scenes there’s every expectation of folks being mean, sneaky and potentially dangerous in their character attacks.

a analogy that reached & fell short (& i thought i was being so witty)
