Intelligent Conversation, Senator?

Daily Snore

Ironically, as he was appearing on a late-night comedy show staged four nights a week as a parody of TV news programs, Kerry bemoaned the fact that “intelligent conversation” is largely missing from the campaign.

“I think most Americans would like to have a much more intelligent conversation about where the country’s going,” the candidate told the comedian.

Yes, we would, senator, but that’s not going to happen if you accept interview invitations only from late-night comedians.

As for Stewart, he missed an opportunity to demonstrate that he can do more than just crack jokes. Instead, he choked.

I’m still floored that Kerry’s first interview after the Swift Boat Vets issue came out in force was with Jon Stewart, of all people.

Intelligent conversation, indeed.

  1. Go back to Tim Russert or Brit Hune and do a real interview.

  2. Remember, Kerry lied to Russert, and Russert doesn’t forgive anyone lying to him.

The lie: “I will release all my records.” Kerry still hasn’t and will never release all his records.

  3. Oh I forgot that..oops, well then how about Brit?

  4. Kerry is not going to any venue where he thinks he’s going to be asked a hard question and that he’d have to deliver a truthful answer.

The only host Kerry will accept right now is that Vet poser, shiloh.

  5. pcd, i’ve got to go for the day. the moveon.org folks are coming over for sushi. be good. toodles.

  6. shiloh, you mean tofu, croissants, and brie don’t you. Then you can all surrender to France.

  7. Tofu is an Asian food.
