:lol::lol:That is going to rank for statements! Listen, they are donated g-i-f-t-s. And the last I checked, many construction workers continue to work with no health insurance. They go for the big bucks, over the security of health insurance and throw caution to the wind where their health is concerned. Again, a choice dg.

What you fail to understand, peejz:

If the people who build the wing of the hospital don't have or can afford health insurance, who's gonna use it?

You need to review your economics. Capitalism doesn't work without consumers.

You are dg, all the confidence in the world won't change that. You can be replaced at any time. Where do you get the idea that a company owes you over-time? Your Unions drove the costs up in this country. And so does your over-time. Don't blame us if we like a product but can get it cheaper elsewhere. They cn do it in less time than you and at a better price. That lies on your back, not mine. Was it Ford's responsibility to give everyone a car? They were considered a luxury item. They were also proto-types, and more expensive than mass production which made it affordable for many Americans that were not wealthy. Is that another amendment to the constitution that most of us are unaware of?

dg- I say what to people? No dg, I only say that o you! You remind me of a begger that constantly has their hand out. It is everyone else's fauult that your life isn't better. Maybe you did not catch my subtle hint, but just who is it that you think puts the new wings on hospitals, or provides the majority of the research dollars, or fills the bank account at shelters, funds the arts, donates to inner city schools? Let me give you a clue, it sure as hell isn't your Union, or you for that matter. Ass:roll:

I make assumptions based on selfish, narrow minded statements like this:

"...you fail to realize that employees like you are a dime a dozen. You are not needed and can and are being replaced. Whether or not you work has no bearing on the wealth of this country."

Repubs talk about the virtues of hard work and making "right choices" or having ambition and earning a "piece of the pie". But when workers have ambition and want a piece of the pie, you scream that we're greedy.

Peejz thinks overtime is a perk. You can't get any more selfish or greedy than that!!

The mantra of the Reagan 80's was "Greed Is Good." It must still be today.

The number of workers are far greater than the number of consumers. You guys made all the "right choices", went to school, or know something about economics. What happens when there are no more consumers?

Here's a better example. Henry Ford's assembly line made so many new cars so fast that he couldn't sell any more than the wealthy could buy. The average well-off in those days had two-three of Fords cars. His own employees could not even afford them.

So what did Ford do?

LisaS,

I didn't say small business' didn't support Bush. I said you won't find small business owners in Bush's cabinet.

What is the percentage of new small business' that fail? How do small business' hold up to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Wal-Greens, etc.

Compare small banks with large banks.

Even small business' that make parts for big corporations go through multiple changes and owners in cycles of collapse, even though the big corporation remains unscathed.

Subsidiaries are good feeeder to big corporations. Someplace to lay blame or pay for mistakes.

I do not oppose small business. But the interests of the country under Bush lie within the Military-Industrial-Complex, with big corporations dictating US policy, at the expense of American lives.

Fact Sheet: Supporting America?s Small Businesses

President Bush recognizes that supporting America?s small businesses is critical to ensuring continued job creation. Small businesses create two-thirds of new private sector jobs in America, employ more than half of all workers, and account for more than half of the output of our economy. Because small businesses are vital to our prosperity, the President has taken important steps to assist small businesses and the hard working people they employ by reducing taxes, encouraging investment, and removing obstacles to growth.

Have a good read, dg.

And before you make assumptions about what lies within the heart and mind of peejz, perhaps you should ask her directly if she cares about anyone else. I'm pretty sure you'll hear a different viewpoint...and who would know better about herself than peejz?

Let me ask you, common folk.

I do try to buy only Made In USA, as well. But it is difficult. And when you consider the country the product you bought is made in, your job can go next.

Should you be paid more as a nurse or should the auto mechanic be paid less?

I'm glad peejz can enjoy her life, but she's selfish. She got hers so fuck everybody else. (Read her preivious posts).

I sympathize with your disability, but what benefits would that be? Social Security? medicare?

It is a joke to think Bush is really concerned about small business'. Bush's only regard to small business is how they can be devoured by big corporations. Sorry. No lobbyists for small business in Bush's cabinet. But, if you have an oil tanker named after you, you're covered!
