No French or German turn on Iraq
French and German government officials say they will not significantly increase military assistance in Iraq even if John Kerry, the Democratic presidential challenger, is elected on November 2.
Mr Kerry, who has attacked President George W. Bush for failing to broaden the US-led alliance in Iraq, has pledged to improve relations with European allies and increase international military assistance in Iraq.
Seems Kerry’s ‘plan’ for Iraq is not something he, or anyone else, can count on.
Well, Kerry should have a brand new position on Iraq by this time tomorrow.
This isn’t going to change Kerry’s rhetoric. He’s in his own little La-La land. He’s hiding at the “House on the Rock” in Spring Green, WI. Anyone need directions? Maybe a little Victory Vigil outside. He’ll hate to see signs praising the troops and thanking them for their service.

Tell me, dg, please, prior to the Iraq invasion, just who were these loyal allies who stood with us before we “alienated” them? ‘Bout the only friends I’ve seen stand with us pre-Iraq to post-Iraq are the Brits, the Aussies, the Israelis, and to a lesser extent the Italians and Japanese. Who stood with us before Iraq who’s not doing so now? The French, the Germans? Get real.

The French and the Germans wanted to give inspections a chance to work, maybe a war wouldn’t be necessary…
