Radio Host Calls Rice ‘Aunt Jemima’

A radio talk show host drew criticism Thursday after calling Condoleezza Rice an “Aunt Jemima” and saying she isn’t competent to be secretary of state.

John Sylvester, the program director and morning personality on WTDY-AM in Madison, said in a phone interview Thursday that he used the term on Wednesday’s show to describe Rice and other blacks as having only a subservient role in the Bush administration.

As for Rice, “they’re using her for an illusion of inclusion,” he said, adding that he feels her history as national security adviser showed a lack of competence.

Aunt Jemima?
Subservient role in the Bush administration?
Lacks competence?

Does he know absolutely nothing about Condi – - let alone what a national security adviser does or secretary of state

We must define the term “good job”

    Let’s put it this way:

She didn’t refer to Cheney and Rumsfeld’s “evidence” of WMD in Iraq as “BULLSHIT” like Colin Powell did.

    Powell’s out; Rice is in.

Where is the NAACP on this? Nothing. Can you imagine if someone on the Right side made a racist comment like that? They would be all over their ass.

k- Tent Lott stepped down for less.

Zelda- do you support a persons right to free speech when they call an African American “Aunt Jemima”? A racist slur?

No, but the NAACP are servants to the DNC. Rice is great, and they will, if not already, try to destroy or minimize Dr. Rice.

I don’t know, but whoever it is, it shouldn’t matter what color they are. Only expect the NAACP, a racist organization itself, to make negative comments about Dr. Rice. People who try to minimalize Dr. Rice can be quickly debunked. Look at her life, her record, and her achievements.

It just seems that no matter who was appointed, they would be the “wrong” person for the job.

Of course, the Dems have nothing, I say again, nothing positive to contribute anymore.

The NAACP is no longer what it used to be. The commenter above was correct when he stated they are DNC. To phrase it like my African American friends, “The NAACP has been hi-jacked”. My friends are ditching them. There is another organization is actually an asset for the A A community. It’s the National Urban League.

I’ll never send another dime to NAACP.
