Bush Wins – Again

Bush carries Electoral College after delay

President Bush officially won a second term in the White House after electoral votes from all 50 states were counted Thursday during a joint session of Congress.

The normally perfunctory ceremony of counting and certifying Electoral College votes was delayed for about four hours as Democrats unsuccessfully challenged Ohio’s votes for Bush.

Bush received 286 electoral votes, 16 more than the 270 he needed to win re-election. Sen. John Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat, received 251 votes. One Democratic elector cast a vote not for Kerry but for former Sen. John Edwards, his vice presidential running mate.

In the vice presidential race, Vice President Dick Cheney received 286 electoral votes and Edwards received 252.

The challenge was defeated 267-31 by the House and 74-1 by the Senate, clearing the way for the joint session to count the votes from the remaining states.

And where was John Kerry during all of this? He is in Iraq to thank U.S. troops for their service. I’m sure that didn’t please his party.

The results are final. The results are official. George W. Bush won. These folks really have to move on.

Shall I sing Happy Days Are Here Again?

Did Kerry slaute the troops and say John Kerry reporting for duty?

Senator Kerry has conceded. President Bush won reelection. I think these delay tactics were the work of a few lone nuts, not the Democratic Party as a whole.

Just look at the votes you listed. Only 1 Senator. (And everyone knows there are plenty of nuts in the House of Representatives)

K, the one senator was Barbara “Check Bouncer” Boxer. You the same person who voted against disclosure of the House Bank shennanagans before she bolted to the Senate. The same Barbara Boxer who teamed with slime master, Bob Mulholland to smear her opponent, Bruce Hershensohn.

Oh, for those of you who forgot, Mulholland was the DNC creep who teamed with former CNN host Bob Beckel to try to blackmail Electoral College Electors into voting for Gore.
