Billboard Delivers Right Jab To Hollywood

A conservative group is giving thanks where thanks is not wanted.
Citizens United posted a billboard thanking Hollywood stars for contributing to the re-election of President George W. Bush.
“Using a billboard, thanking Hollywood for helping re-elect George Bush is somewhat in fun, but also delivers a serious message,” said Dave Bossie, president of Citizens United. “That is, every action has an equal and opposite reaction.”
The billboards are about a block away from the Kodak Theatre where the Oscars are held – - the group plans to add more in the area.

19 — Well, of course not. As I mentioned earlier, any speaking out against it would be an impediment of Freedom of Speech…though it did recently occur to me that someone could try to sue for “defamation” or “using pictures without permission” or something crazy like that…
Forgot about the boss. Notice the lower case as a dis.
52-good dis:mrgreen:

51: Public figures have a harder time suing for such things.

“All the 1st amendment says is that the GOVERNMENT has no right to silence your free speech. It doesn’t mean we don’t have the free speech right to get back in your face.”
Yeah, that’s right. Congress shall make no law. William Morris Agency tried to shut this site down a couple of years ago, Sabor. Were you aware of that?
Even more sites sprang up as a result.
Getting back to the billboard, we are in a time of war and our country is deeply divided. The billboard(s), I think, are small-minded, disappointing, immature and only further encourage pettiness and division. I would invite the right to seek a higher ground and do something that’s worthy of being proud of.
