Not all Marines take pride in the work of their brothers.
Take Scott Ritter, a former Marine and United Nations weapons inspector, who has turned into a critic of just about anything the U.S. does in Iraq. Now he’s writing for Al-Jazeera’s Web site, which seems like a perfect home for his defeatist rhetoric.
According to Mr. Ritter, “The highly vaunted U.S. military machine, laurelled and praised for its historic march on Baghdad in March and April of 2003, today finds itself a broken force, on the defensive in a land that it may occupy in part, but does not control.”
This is the perfect gig for Ritter – - he would like nothing more than for the United States and our military to fail – - I’d say he has captured that ol’Al-Jazeera feeling.
A man’s gotta eat. And the US media has been avoiding Ritter and others who turned out, with 2 years hindsight, to have been right about Iraq’s weapons programs. His characterisation of the Iraq situation is overblown, but those who would deny it completely are living on a different planet than the rest of us.
1- Sandy- we don’t know that they are right. Those weapons could have been moved. Scott is not right about anything. He ceased being relevant when he took a bribe from Saddam.
This isn’t Jack Tripper’s son, is it?
LOL.
C’mon knock on our door…we’ve been waiting for you…
2,
That would be be why I said ‘with two years hindsight’.
Where was that relativistic, constructivist, distrust of official evidence in 2002, peejz?
I have not trusted anything that Scott Ritter has said since before the war. He appeared to be on the take, and my suspisions were correct.
Looks like he has traded his loyalty to the marines and the USA for loyalty to the left-wing UN so why should we continue to pay anymore homage to this corupt body of tyrants and despots? lets just evict the whole bunch from our nation:razz:
5,
‘On the take’?
7- Yes I didn’t stutter.
i am not sure what on the take means, but i also need suggestions on how to get red wine stains out of a beige carpet.
9- on the take- getting paid under the table.
Red wine on beige carpet. UGH!!!!!!! Call a carpet cleaning place. I would say use resolve, but you may just want to have someone clean it. Try club soda first.
My god K, you’re already up??? How do you do it?? Wow, what a woman!
Sorry about the carpet
11- So you are the one that spilled:twisted:
No, I’m careful about things like that, but I think I may have been the cause
13- Uh huh, it’s your story.
Yep
I think I may have been distracting her
Oh I bet you were!
I love how you claimed to be discussing politics:twisted:
Conservative foreplay
18- nice answer:cool:
I have my moments
Although I’m a little surprised since my wit feels a bit dulled this morning
I need a smiley with an ice pack on its head!
10,
I know what on the take means, peejz, I just don’t know what allegations you are referring to.
I was answering K. And these are not new allegations to Ritter.
thanks, peejz, i had never heard that phrase.
and spot shot did wonders. except now it’s still wet.
lee, don’t flatter yourself, when you have a flight of steps like mine, you are bound to swish around.
Yeah, sure, K
peejz,
What are the allegations?
sandy, Ritter was hired by Saddam. Ritter was not independent, nor objective, but bought and paid for. Do you understand now?
