Kofi Cutting Kojo Loose

Kofi to save face by saying son misled him

Kofi Annan, struggling to survive as the UN Secretary-General, plans to blame his son for embroiling him in the oil-for-food scandal when a UN inquiry issues the harsh report.

UN officials are hoping to deflect criticism of the UN chief by insisting that his son, Kojo misled him about payments that Kojo Annan received from a UN contractor.

The inquiry, led by former chairman of the US Federal Reserve Paul Volcker, is expected to criticise the UN Secretary-General’s management lapses, in particular his failure to perceive the apparent conflict of interest of his son working for a company that was awarded a UN contract.

It will also confirm that Mr Annan repeatedly met senior representatives of the company, Cotecna Inspection SA.

So it is said Kofi is offering up his son to take the fall. Now I could see where that would work IF Kojo had been paid six or so billion — – but that isn’t the case here. Kofi wants everyone to believe his son tricked him into getting involved in the oil for food scandal, when in fact Kojo is accused of a very small amount of that money.

Could it be that Kofi thinks we aren’t smart enough to see he is the head of the United Nations and not Kojo – - and that alone makes him very responsible.

  4. Good question, mike – - I am anxiously awaiting the release of Paul’s latest report (which should be out today).

I find it amazing that Kofi (head of the UN) is going to claim ignorance and that he was misled by his own child.

  5. I swear to god, this criminal should be put on trial right next to Saddam…. Kofi Anan is an international criminal, the UN is a criminal organisation, and should be dissolved forthwith.
