Britain Starts Move to Ban Kitchen Knives

From The BBC:

A team from West Middlesex University Hospital said violent crime is on the increase – and kitchen knives are used in as many as half of all stabbings.

They argued many assaults are committed impulsively, prompted by alcohol and drugs, and a kitchen knife often makes an all too available weapon.

The research is published in the British Medical Journal.

The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all…

Next week, a waiting period on forks and spoons because they hurt more and people have eaten with their fingers for years…

  1. Gee whats the british people going to cut their bread with now that the liberals have planned to ban all knives? i guess its back to using your bare hands it loooks like the liberal nambdy pambdies have taken over in england before you know it they,ll ban letter openers and blunt scisors(the kind lids use in school)and butter knives and probibly nail clippers nail files and fingernails as well:razz:

  2. Just like to add that they are not saying that knives will be banned in the kitchen but they want to change the kitchen knife from being pointy like > to being rounded like this ). Hey if want to do damage something else will come to hand. Nanny UK is at it again!

  3. Banning guns did nothing but increase the crime rate. It goes to show you that to decrease crime,,,, you must do something awful like PUNISH the CRIMINALS!…….

    People amaze me.

  4. So as long as knives are not pointy I can’t slice you on your arms or wherever I want? Why not have safety knives, like the scissors kids use in school, so we can’t cut each other.

  5. Gary, you weren’t supposed to think of that!

  6. Well since we moved to Europe a year ago I want to say that these people have NO LOVE for soft toilet paper..they need to do something about that….this stuff over here is POINTY, SHARP and could seriously slice a person’s buttocks up…
