An Islamic advocacy group is blasting a U.S. lawmaker for his “Islamophic” comments on the design of a memorial to the 40 people who died when Flight 93 crashed in a Pennsylvania farm field on Sept. 11, 2001.
As the Washington Post reported on Tuesday, Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) believes that the crescent-shaped design of the memorial to Flight 93 victims could invite controversy and criticism “because of the crescent’s prominent use as a symbol in Islam — and the fact that the hijackers were radical Islamists.”
“The invocation of a Muslim symbol” — whether intentional or not — “is unsuitable for paying appropriate tribute to the heroes of Flight 93 or the ensuing American struggle against radical Islam,” Tancredo wrote, according to the Washington Post..
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) dismissed Tancredo’s comments as a cynical political ploy designed to gain national attention
I think there are better symbols than the red crescent shaped design they have.

Another symbol that had a positive meaning was the swastika; The word “swastika” comes from the Sanskrit svastika – “su” meaning “good,” “asti” meaning “to be,” and “ka” as a suffix.
Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck.
Not too many people think of the swastika as a positive symbol.
If CAIR is upset, then the truth was uncovered and broadcast.

did any of you hear about what just happened in Ontario decides not allowing sharia laws? some nuts wanted to use islamic laws on non muslims to keep people from saying anything bad about that religion and cutting heads off at the order of the

6, I saw the Ontario decision, but it wasn’t just Sharia that was target, but ALL religious laws and the forums for transgressions within the sect that set up the forum.
Personally, I think each member of CAIR should be deported to Bangladesh or some other poor Muslim nation. I can’t stand Ibrahim Hooper any more than I can stand shiloh.

The architect of the memorial to a plane downed in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001, said Wednesday he would work to satisfy critics who complained that it honors terrorists with its crescent-shaped design.
Designer Paul Murdoch said he is “somewhat optimistic” that the spirit of the design could be maintained.
“It’s a disappointment there is a misinterpretation and a simplistic distortion of this, but if that is a public concern, than that is something we will look to resolve in a way that keeps the essential qualities,” Murdoch, 48, of Los Angeles, said in a telephone interview.
