589,000 People polled say Nagin Failed

WND

As debate continues to rage over government response to Hurricane Katrina, the public clearly thinks New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin – not President Bush – is the one to blame, according to a new online poll by America Online.

With more than 589,000 responses in today’s unscientific survey, 65 percent of participants rate Nagin’s handling of the Katrina disaster as “poor.”

Only 10 percent of AOL users said Nagin’s response was “excellent,” 13 percent called it “good,” and 12 percent termed it “fair.”

When asked who has done a better job during the crisis, 67 percent named President Bush, and only 33 percent chose Nagin.

For those of you that are thinking of calling me a hypocrit for using poll numbers only when they support my position, think again.
This poll was done by surveying over a half a million people, not 972 people. This poll took answers from all over the country, not certain cities.

  1. The simple fact that this a-hole Nagin wouldn’t use the buses because they “didn’t have bathrooms” makes him a colassal nitwit, and, in my estimation, guilty of criminal negligence and involuntary manslaughter.

He should be shackled right next to Kofi Anan.

  2. P, It is not only the sample size, but the questions, how they are asked, and who is ruled in or out of a survey that makes it relevant and accurate or not.

I remember the Orange County Register did a survey on whether or not current Assembly Speaker Doris Allen should be recalled. They did a good job of publishing the questions, the names, faces, and backgrounds of the people surveyed, and the demographic weightings. That information showed how biased the news editor was in setting up the survey. It was weighted against the recall with a demographic that did not match Allen’s assembly district.

When I challenged this biased editor on his methodology, misweighted sample, and cooked up conclusion, the editor lamely admitted that this was the way he thought the recall should come out. He was not trying to predict the recall, but was trying to influence the outcome.

  3. 1, Mike, Nagin is stuck on stupid and will never get any better.

  4. I understand how it works, but I tire easily of people citing poll figures; good, bad, indifferent, when they sample 1000 people and claim that is how America thinks. 1000 people doesnt even register as a percent of a percent of the population.
This is a sample of people from all over the country, andd the sample size registers as a percent of the population.

  5. Mike Nagin isn’t stuck on stupid, he IS stupid.

  6. He worse than stupid, he’s dangerous.

  7. Time for nagging nagin to stop being a idiot why dont mr bald buzzard just stop trying to prove himself a jerk:wink:

  8. 8, I don’t think there are that many psychotic Bush Haters so stuck on stupid like you are.

  9. Bush-haters are like crazy wind-up dolls…watch ‘em go!!!!

  10. 9, I see we have a person who once sait they were too ethical to post under different names, is posting under different names and getting deleted. What a stuck on stupid “Flicker Farkel!”
