AP Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay’s legal team asked Friday for his Texas indictments to be set aside, accusing the prosecutor of misconduct.
DeLay’s attorney, Dick DeGuerin, alleged in a court motion that Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle unlawfully participated in grand jury deliberations when he went to a second grand jury last week to seek a second indictment against the congressman.
DeGuerin also alleged that Earle “attempted to browbeat and coerce” the second grand jury to change its decision not to indict DeLay so there would be no public record of a rejection.
DeGuerin said the indictment forced DeLay to step down from his job as majority leader, the No. 2 position in the U.S. House, for a crime that did not exist in Texas law.
I hope that Delay prevails in this whole thing,for no other reason but to be able to do a Cartman; ha ha ha ha ha ha. Earle is a disgrace.
Is Tom out of jail yet?
This case is very interesting to me. On NPR, I heard some guy with good credentials who said that DA Earle was unbiased. However, as time goes by I think maybe Senator Delay is innocent of these charges and DA Earle is a hack. Either way, I think in the end Justice will be served.

Between the movie and the number of grand juries, I long ago gave up on Earle. For the sake of an arguement, let’s say Earle has the goods on Delay and Delay is guilty…any lawyer worth his fee can get him off based onb Earles behaviour alone!

Years from now, the truth about President Bush will be out also. Did he do a good job or not? I don’t know, but he will have had 8 years. Historians will have a lot to think about and judge him by. I hope he can “fix”Iraq.
