Do the Editors at The New York Times support Judith Miller?
AP
Times Managing Editor Jill Abramson, asked what she regretted about the Times’ handling of the Miller case, replied simply: “The entire thing.”Miller defended herself in the piece, saying the paper had “everything to be proud of and nothing to apologize for.”
Miller, 57, was released Sept. 29 after being jailed for her steadfast refusal to identify the source who leaked her the information. After getting the source’s direct approval, she finally identified him as I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Cheney’s chief of staff.
In a separate first-person piece on the Times’ Web site, however, she said she testified before a grand jury that she could not recall if Libby was the source who told her about “Valerie Flame,” as the name appeared in her notebook.
The Times’ companion story portrayed Miller as a divisive figure in the newsroom, with a few colleagues refusing to work with her. She was quoted as once telling a colleague, “I can do whatever I want.”
The article noted that editors “found her hard to control,” and that the paper’s management allowed Miller to make many of the major decisions in the Plame case herself. For example, it said, Executive Editor Bill Keller and Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. never reviewed the notes of her crucial conversation with Libby.
The article was interesting on many points. I can’t help but wonder if they are upset that they have someone that actually knows what is going on in the Plame case. They can’t just make up the facts as they go along.

I just found the story interesting in that we are now facing legislation; a shield law for journalists, with the Judith Miller case being a primary reason. One would think The Times would champion her cause for the sake of all journalists. But this is a case in which they appear to not be happy with her.

#3 your analysis is central to the whole mess at NYT and journalists. the 4th estate would love nothing better than be considered “above the law” a greater class than the rest of us hustings! hell no! you are not above the law of the land; and judith miller just go ahead and finish your book. im sure it will titillate the effete small minded lefties that are readers of the NYT and others of the socialist agenda that just happen to hate america and the constitution.

“They can’t just make up the facts as they go along.”
If they are following in the tradition of the NYT, yes they can.
And wasn’t it the AP, if memory serves, that reported thousands of Bush rallygoers in West Allis, Wisc. cheered when Bush announced Clinton was undergoing bypass surgery, when the AV footage showed otherwise?

5,6, My memory is that Lisa was there and filed her own story here.
The NYT isn’t fit to line a cat box. The cats would think the litter box was full and start taking dumps elsewhere in the house. Same for the LATimes, and my cats did start taking dumps elsewhere in the house when I lined their box with the LATimes.

I do remember Lisa writing about that.
I your cat leaves tokens all over the place, get a dog; I hear they think they’re eating tootsie rolls!

8, Sasha, we had a dog that did that. He got so bad about it that he was at the cat box when the cat was depositing them. Idiot dog. Then the neighbors were always wondering why the cat was always beating the crap out of the dog.

It is very evident that the AP in particular and the MSM in general is trying to convict Rove without a trial or due process.
The following article is an example of trying to convict Rove just by describing the contents of his garage.
