As York observes, It’s not just the intellectual poltroons of the Internet who feign bravery by loudly saying what is patently stupid so that people a fraction dumber than them might mistake it for boldness and conviction. It’s not just the masses of undifferentiated cattle who sport their Hitlerfied George Bush T-shirts and who chant slogans with a verve more truly reminiscent of Nuremberg than anything ever uttered by George Bush.
Since the rise and fall of the Nazis in the midtwentieth century, fascism has been seen as an extreme right-wing phenomenon. Liberals have kept that assumption alive, hurling accusations of fascism at their conservative opponents. LIBERAL FASCISM offers a startling new perspective on the theories and practices that define fascist politics. Replacing conveniently manufactured myths with surprising and enlightening research, Jonah Goldberg shows that the original fascists were really on the Left and that liberals, from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary Clinton, have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler’s National Socialism.
Goldberg draws striking parallels between historic fascism and contemporary liberal doctrines. He argues that “political correctness” on campuses and calls for campaign finance reform echo the Nazis’ suppression of free speech; and that liberals, like their fascist forebears, dismiss the democratic process when it yields results they dislike, insist on the centralization of economic decision-making, and seek to insert the authority of the state in our private lives–from bans on smoking to gun control. Covering such hot issues as morality, anti-Semitism, science versus religion, health care, and cultural values, he boldly illustrates the resemblances between the opinions advanced by Hitler and Mussolini and the current views of the Left.
Why do you think that I have a bumper sticker that says:
“This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.”
Doesn’t that sound like any of a number of Liberal Democratic politicians? The quote is from Adolf Hitler in 1935. Just before Germany started gearing up for WWII and rounding up the Jews, union activists, Gypsies, homosexuals, etc, etc for eventual extermination. Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it. Amazingly the same people that Hitler rounded up for extermination are the ones who are so actively supporting the Democratic Party now. Some of them jsut aren’t learning that if you register your guns, they can take your guns. Once they take your guns, they can take you and there isn’t a thing you can do to stop them.
Y’know, I think I had better make my reservations for that NRA barbecue today. Go talk to some people with connections in Washington.
FAO- I just thought this summed up the liberals to a tee!
Oh it does Peejz, it does. If they have their way think George Orwell. Not “1984″ either. “Animal Farm would be my best analogy.
Liberalism, through its dogma of political correctness, absolutely is the new Fascism. And even the educated, so-called intellectual Liberals are too ignorant to realize it.
4-And even the educated, so-called intellectual Liberals are too ignorant to realize it. - Oh no they aren’t. They think everyone else is too stupid to see what’s going on!

LIBERAL FASCISM
He argues that “political correctness”on campuses and calls for campaign finance reform echo the Nazis’ suppression of free speech; and that liberals, like their fascist forebears, dismiss the democratic process when it yields results they dislike, insist on the centralization of economic decision-making, and seek to insert the authority of the state in our private lives–from bans on smoking to gun control. Covering such hot issues as morality, anti-Semitism, science versus religion, health care, and cultural values, he boldly illustrates the resemblances between the opinions advanced by Hitler and Mussolini and the current views of the Left.
Impeccably researched and persuasively argued, LIBERAL FASCISM will elicit howls of indignation from the liberal establishment–and rousing cheers from the Right.
