Lying to a Grand Jury by someone this close to the President? I guess Senator Shumer completely forgets about the actions of his illustrious colleague in the Senate. The again, Shumer is known for being immune to facts when they fly in the face of his liberal fantasies.

It is. Providing the CIA officer is or has been undercover overseas (it’s illegal for a CIA officer to operate undercover in the US unless they just happen to end up here with someone they’re investigating) in the last 5 years. That’s what the law says and is straight from the woman who drafted the legislation on it. Valerie Plame does not meet any of these requirements. She’s been working in the US as an analyst for over 6 years. Hence, no crime.
I’m finding this discussion rather enjoyable as this was the topic for my term paper in my Constitutional Law class in college just before they actually passed the law on it. The professor let us choose which side to argue on the case. I chose for the law and got a 95. He said I would’ve gotten 100 but I didn’t include Justice Jackson’s dissenting opinion in the Koramatsu V US case. I told him I intentionally left it out for two reasons. It was a dissenting opinion and therefore not precedent, and that it would weaken rather than strengthen my argument. Hence, why would I put it in? BTW I was the only student in the class to even understand the “Loaded Weapon” analogy in Justice Jackson’s dissenting opinion. Scary thought considering that I was the youngest student in the class and many of the rest are probably now attornies.
Valerie Plame was polishing a chair behind a desk in Washington. She was not overseas, and not undercover.
The fact that she worked for the CIA was already disclosed on public docuemnts, by herslef when her and her lying, incompetent partisan hack husband Joe Wilson donated money to the Kerry Kampaign.
