Out Comes The VP Swinging!
The Drudge Report has an advanced copy of a speech that Dick Cheney is giving. I encourage you to read the speech in its entirety! It is well worth the time.
The President and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone – but we’re not going to sit by and let them rewrite history.
We’re going to continue throwing their own words back at them. And far more important, we’re going to continue sending a consistent message to the men and women who are fighting the war on terror in Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other fronts.
We can never say enough how much we appreciate them, and how proud they make us. They and their families can be certain: That this cause is right : and the performance of our military has been brave and honorable : and this nation will stand behind our fighting forces with pride and without wavering until the day of victory.
I just love this man! Now read the entire speech!

“this cause is right”
That depends entirely on the outcome in Iraq.
This whole media/senate BS about misleading/lying is a diversion from what is important. It is just politics. The FUTURE of Iraq is what matters now. The rest is almost entirely BS.

I am so glad he is speaking out as well. It’s about time but you know what they say. Better late than never. I just hope he succeeds in shaming some of these liberal idiots.
As far as the outcome Zelda, anyone can who looks can see the progress. Iraq is a win in my eyes.

I hope your right. I think it’s too early to tell.

Zelda, think of it this way. There are more than 3500 schools open with textbooks that do not hail Saddam, many mass graves have been found and forensic scientists are hard at work identifying the remains. Iraqi’s have internet access and there are, I believe, about 280 newspapers of a daily, weekly or monthly basis in circulation. Military and police are being trained everyday and every 8-10 weeks there are new Iraqi forces at work. But to save the best for last they are writing a constitution and have voted for their elected officials and have agreed to debate the issues in the proper forum and work out something beneficial to all Iraqi citizens.
No one could come in and take this away from them.
EXCEPT….if we and our coalition forces were to leave, then the terrorists just might succeed in taking over the country. THEN we would have failed but not only Iraq but ourselves as well.
There are people in this country who are not going to let that happen.

There are only two ways out of a war. Win or lose. Draw is not an option because it only allows your enemy the chance to get stronger. You either have to plan to win, or plan to lose. An exit strategy that states a date to leave rather than an objective met, is a plan to lose. We have done a lot of wonderful things for the Iraqi people. Most of them appreciate it. Think the terrorists are winning? If they are winning, why are thousands lining up every month to join the police and military where they are practically moving targets? They are doing it for something liberals (fascists in actuality) will never understand. They are doing it so that their children and grandchildren will know the freedom that most in this country take for granted but they themselves have never truly known. Freedom is never free, it must be bought and paid for, unfortunately all too frequently, with the blood of good men and women.
