“Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors.”
When Rebecca Beach, a freshman at Warren Community College in New Jersey e-mailed faculty announcing a campus program yesterday featuring decorated Iraq war hero Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, the response she got from one English professor took her aback.
English professor John Daly replied: “Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors.”
Daly added that he would ask his students to boycott the event and also vowed “to expose [her] right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like [Rebecca's] won’t dare show their face on a college campus.”
Daly’s e-mail also claimed that “capitalism has killed many more” people than communism and that “poor and working class people” are recruited to “fight and die for EXXON and other corporations.”
“John Daly was hired to teach English, not to verbally attack students and lead leftist protests,” said Jason Mattera, spokesman for Young America’s Foundation.
That is exactly right!
Thanks PCD!

I have an idea. Let’s take people like Daiy who really basicly hate America, strip them of their citizenship, then exchange them for an immigrant who wants to come here and be an American. This idea would put a big dent in 2 problems at once.

I’m with you PCD. It’s attitudes like this that scare the hell out of me and I don’t know if it’s my imagination or paranoia but there seem to be alot of nutcases like this out there; especially in education. Way too many for comfort.

These people enjoy all the freedoms and opportunities that America provides yet they act like America is fundamentally bad for the world as a whole. They have a fundamental misunderstanding of how capitalism and communism have affected the world throughout history. Their ignorance is only surpassed by their arrogance.
It is one thing to disagree with the policy of an administration, or a particular law. It is entirely different to characterize our entire nation as evil. They make me sick.

I wrote a letter to this guy. I encourage every college student, concerned parent, alum, or prospective student to do the same!

I’m currently reading the book Unholy Alliance. It will bring shivers to any red/white/blue blooded American. This guy belongs with this group. There must be a way to rid our society of this kind of evil and still preserve our integrity.

this Daly ass has know ideals of what he is doing, lets face facts we need 1 (one ) million guys in Iraq, “like yesterday”, if you really want to win, but the fact is the boys in Washington do not want to win, bush will do the left right jig! but my brother live in Moscow under the red rats his wife is from that part of the world we should send Daly to Moscow to tell people that the Red rats are good guys, the people would hang him; long live the U.S.Army, my old Army will win if the rats here don’t side with the murderous Muslims terrorists
and i mean the bitch’s in Washington and we all know who that is!

Why does the phrase “some people are only alive because it’s illegal to kill them” come to mind. We all must keep in mind that this idiot lives in the People’s Republic of New Jersey. His ideas are probably almost common thought in Northern New Jersey.
There is a reason why the southern half of the state wanted to break off and form its own state in the early 80s. The anti firearm, anti constitution crowd from the far north of the state have made it so hard to buy a firearm, that the deer population has gotten so out of control that the annual bag limit is 7 deer per hunter unlike states like Colorado or Arizona where you’re lucky if you get the tag for one deer for the year.

As a college student myself have noticed that many new freshmen are coming to school with no tolerance for this leftist anti-american trash from the faculity.
These are the students such as females I work with wo hate their advisors for scheduling with Women’s Studies as part of their “mulitcultural basic studies”
I have afellow student employee who hates her African American Lit prof, WHO has 3 books she written as required class reading. What Ralph Ellison was not good enough. All the books deal with Slavery.
STAY AWAY FROM SOCIAL WORK AS A MAJOR, they will make you take classes that will shove GAY in your face. My friend changed his major form Social Work to Psychology because he had a prof that hate him because he was a straight male.
It is time students stand up and tell their Universities that we are NOT taking out loans, putting ourselfs into Debt to pay for this garbage.

I guess we all have our different definition of ‘freedom’.
So, the soldiers will experience real freedom by turning their guns on their superiors? Should that freedom be exclusive to soldiers? Or, should freedom be experienced by anyone who turns their guns on superiors? Should students consider their English teachers as superiors? I guess it is all a matter of a semantics. And when it comes to matters of semantics, I will concede to an English teacher to the extent that when it comes to other issues the will step aside to others who are more informed on that particular issue.
