Mark Noonan Hits This One Out Of The Park

Mark Noonan wrote Endless Change. It is by far one of the most well written pieces I have read and would not add anything to it nor take anything away.

Michael Barone over at Opinon Journal has an excellent article about the decline and fall of GM and the UAW – it is a story of organizations which tried to conserve things as they were rather than continually adapt to new conditions. In one of the great ironies of human history, it is the modern political left – which calls itself “progressive”! – which is in favor of stasis. Whether in terms of economics, environmental issues, demographics or worldwide power relationships, the left is in favor of keeping things as they are. Only in the realm of human sexuality is the left interested in anything new. The left, like the UAW and GM, are doomed to failure.

The flaw in the world, for leftwing thinking, is that things don’t stay the same – they are constantly changing. As an example: our leftists will say we have to do something for “the poor”. True, we do – but we also have to take care. You see, just because a person is poor today doesn’t mean he’ll be poor tomorrow. This is why conservatives opt for temporary amelioration of problems while leftists seek permanent solutions…the left, you see, doesn’t think that anyone who is poor today will be non-poor tomorrow. Everything always stays the same for a leftist unless, of course, a leftist gets the power to force change on everyone.

The world is coming to an end. Really. No, I’m not kidding. Whether you believe in a religoius Apocalypse or wether you are a firm believer in evolution, the world is coming to an end. Either this world will be ended by God, or it will just end of its own accord…but end it will. It will change from a living thing to a dead thing…there is no point in preserving it, because that is to stand athwart the ever-changing nature of things and to deny the final change (to a God-run world or to a dead world, depending on how one believes). Heck, we as people are always changing…I am not, science assures me, made up of precisely the same materials I was made of 20 years ago…the memory I have of 20 years ago is carried around in things less than 20 years old. Change…endless change.

I realise that this leaves little comfort for our leftwing friends…but it is not my fault the world is the way it is, nor am I at fault for the average lefty’s lack of religious belief. Me? I’m comforted…my beliefs tell me precisely what is going to happen and I’m quite happy with it; a leftist, however, largely hasn’t got that…so they have to place their reliance upon something else. Some place it on men, others on Nature…but the main thing is they place it on things which will pass away…houses built on sand, I think it’s referred to.

Well said Mr. Noonan!

  1. OK the left wing guys want “the ideals of the people’s workers all in line, you know like red china”, the right wing guys want “no cost workers” at any price to this country and all the people want it all to be free from responsibility and Mexico and red China are doing you all a big time number with our governments help, GM big boys want a billion dollars for handing over America and someday all the guys yelling about nothing and looking away and backing criminal government, “or as i like to put it”, non government will pay the toll for being little sheeple and really stupid.

Long live the ideals of 1776, its called real duty from the big guys down to the little guys but you really can’t understand that can you?

I had to stop reading at that point. It’s apparent that within Peejz’s grap at reality, she cannot wrap her mind around anything beyond her own warped sense of personal stature.

Tell the truth, Peejz, you are a comfort slave for Karl Rove, yes? You like it hard?

Tell me, Ms. Dis-honorable Slave Chick, how does it feel to be in the MINORITY of public opinion?

Me? I’m loving it. Must suck to be in the minority yet again.

    What a waste.

  3. tofu,

My are you the opinionated wonder without facts. Polls aren’t facts, and you didn’t even bother to cite your slanted polls.

Go stuff a ballot box to make yourself feel better.

  4. I take it the piece hit a nerve tofu:razz:
