The United States needs to set milestones for progress, not a firm withdrawal date, before it can leave Iraq, Virginia governor and prospective
Democratic presidential candidate Mark Warner said on Monday.
“This Democrat doesn’t think we need to re-fight how we got into (the Iraq war). I think we need to focus more on how to finish it,” Warner said.“To set an arbitrary deadline or specific date is not appropriate,” he said. “… It is incumbent on the president to set milestones for what he believes will be the conclusion.”
Warner outlined an Iraq policy during his appearance before New York’s Asia Society, and said he might run for president after his term as governor expires in January. “I clearly want to be part of the national debate,” he said.
Zelda says he’s the man to watch. She just may get her wish.
I think Governor Warner will be one of the top contenders.
Don’t let the Senator Clinton talk fool you. The Democrats aren’t that stupid. Every Democrat I have talked to says that Nominating Senator Clinton would be a mistake.
1, Zelda, after electing Howard Dean chair of the DNC and “Swift Boat” Kerry as their candidate, I can’t see how you would think they can’t be that stupid. Hillary looks like their only sure winner, but she’s a loser.
no one else has a shot at this, the power-mad, carpet-bagging, phoney war hawk, bitch on wheels will be the nominee.
Time will tell, but you guys aren’t the ones who will be nominating the Democratic Presidential candidate. My money is on Governor Warner.
off the blogs I agree with you Z. But when dealing with Dems on the blogs they think she’s the cat’s meow!
My money is on that bogus bitch, phoney feminist, piece of walking feces…
