Arlen Specter is putting his two cents in on the Terrell Owens controversy, the problem is, he is using his office to do it.
Senator Arlen Specter is accusing the National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles of treating Terrell Owens unfairly.
The Pennsylvania Republican says he might refer the matter to the antitrust subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which he chairs.
Specter said at a news conference Monday in Harrisburg it was “vindictive and inappropriate” for the league and the Eagles to forbid the all-pro wide receiver from playing and to prevent other teams from talking to him.
He said, “It’s a restraint of trade for them to do that” and “it might be a violation of antitrust laws.” Some other legal experts disagree.
No sir it is not “vindictive and inappropriate” . It is called business. Maybe you have been in politics too long. In the real world, people lose their jobs for such behavior!
As someone who used to live in PA before moving to AZ, take anything Specter says with an unhealthy dose of NaCl. How a man who served on the Warren commission and went along with the magic bullet that caused serious wounds to 2 people and an additional minor wound to one of them with only minimal deformation is still ebing elected is beyond me.
FAO,
Spector came up with the Magic Bullet theory. It’s his creation.
As for Arlen, time to retire, and now. Arlen is either getting senile or the Cancer Treatments have rotted his brain.
Looks like he is trying to appease someone perhapes some minority somewhere:lol:
Hey Arlen is just like Bush and both are owned people. how about the next move? if you don’t understand what i mean you are not on top of the news coming out of Washington. by the way Spector is owned by some real evil guys.
Big brother gets involved in pro football is nothing sacred or safe from big brothers prying?
