[...] Oh brother! Pat Roberson, feeling the heat for shooting off his mouth upon hearing the news that Ariel Sharon had suffered a stroke, has now apologized for his comments. In a letter to Sharon’s son, Omri, the controversial U.S. evangelist sought forgiveness for saying last week on his “700 Club” television show that Sharon was “dividing God’s land and I would say woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course.” [...]

BonBon- a good example of what you are saying is how some are able to justify the anger of the murderers from the holocoust toward the Jews. The Jews were prospering because of hard work and knowlege while those around them were not. Rather than learn from the Jews, it was easier to blame them for their misery!

BonBon, it is a lie repeated so often, as Goebbles said, that the Muslims and American Democrats take for the absolute truth.

On another blog, there is a poster who hates Jews, but tries to deflect recognition of his bigotry by saying that only if the Zionists "disappeared" along with Israel, then there would be peace.

Thanks Mike and Peejz....it's actually comforting to know that I'm not alone and my feelings don't reflect a prejudice I don't want to feel. But feel it I do and until I see change I will stay weary of the muslim world and all that it stands for.

Why they continue to blame the jews is an obsession that is beyond me. Nothing I have ever read suggests that it is warranted.

18.

Bonbon, I had a very similar experience... for about 4 years, one of my best friends was a student from Kuwait (of all things), who actually, as a teenager, fought iraqis during the invasion of kuwait... after 9/11, even HE was making the same excuses.."if it wasn't for israel" "if the US didn't have troops in Saudi Arabia".. I said, "Salah, don't EVER speak to me again."

from that point on, I do not associate with Muslims...period.

Bon Bon- pointing out prejudice does not make you prejudice. There are many muslims in this country just like your former friend. Isn't it funny how it all goes back to the hatred of the jews?

Mike, I'm inclined to agree with you for the most part although I do think there are some muslims who wish no harm to anyone.

Shortly after 9/11 I had a friend. An egyptian born american who had lived in the U.S. since age 5. All I heard from her mouth was how it was a conspiracy of the jews, obl was not a terrorist, and if Israel would give up it's land to the Palistinians this would never have happened.

Mind you she was an american citizen. RAISED in the U.S. within a muslim family. Needless to say we soon parted ways but it convinced me.

I hate to sound prejudice but after that experience I have become weary towards muslims. After all you don't hear much outrage from their communities.

I feel like I'm talking to a wall with you idiots... Frmrartyoffcr, or whatever you call yourself..you are clueless.... Islam is a violent, intolerant, barbarian "religion", and is currently the source of just about ALL evil across the globe, from Tehran to Paris, Jakarta to Fallujah, Riyadh to Manila.... It's Muslims who make life a living hell for millions......

Tell me what exactly would be the problem in destroying these "people" once and for all???

FAO- That is a nice text book way to look at it, but I find it troubling that yet again it is a non-muslim defending the Muslims. Where is the outrage from the Muslims? Why is it that they do not speak out an denounce the radicals?

As for your comments in 5, you are correct that Israel was not on the map, but for centuries that is the land that they owned. It took a world body to recognize them. Prior to this, the Palestinians, basically the gypsies of the arab world did live in that region as there were Palestinian Jews. It was the Palestians than migrated to that area over the centuries. Isreal has every right to defend herself. It is the Israelis that have made every effort for peace, despite the fact that the Palestians.

The truth is that most Muslims are not radical Islamofascists anymore than most Christians or Jews want to purge the other religions from their respeoctive countries. Historically, the Muslims have been far more tolerant of the Christians and Jews than the other way around.

HOWEVER, there has in the last century or so arisen a very violent sect of Islam called Wahabism (sp?) that is not tolerant of anyone despite the Koran calling for all Muslims to treat all Christians and Jews with respect as "People of the Book". This sect is the source of all of the problems with terrorism in the middle east and have been exporting their extremist philosophy to the far east as well. Wahabism is based in Saudi Arabia and while the Saudi Royal family has little more than enmity for it, they also rely on it to legitimize their claim to the throne. Therefore they, against their better judgement, actually provide funding for the schools or madrasas that are being run by the Wahabist mullahs. They also provide support to a variety of schools that are the equivalent of Islamic Seminaries. These are also unfortunately run by the Wahabists. As the new mullahs graduate from these seminaries fully indoctrinated in the Wahabist beliefs, they go into the world at large to establish or take over leadership of mosques and thereby end up spreading the Wahabist ideology. That is how the Army Sgt who fragged some officers in Kuwait was indoctrinated into the Wahabist beliefs to the exclusion of his American beliefs. He had gone to an Islamic study center here and was indoctrinated into wahabism while there. Many Military Islamic chaplains have received their training from these schools.
