New Orleans Will Be ‘Chocolate’ Again

By: Pam On: Jan/16/06 -

Today is a day when most people reflect on the Civil Rights Movement. Where were we as a country in 1963 and where are we today ?Just when you think we are turning a corner in the right direction, someone opens their big mouth! How could a black man in this country make such a ridiculous and thoughtless statement?

Mayor Ray Nagin told a crowd gathered at City Hall on Monday for a march honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that New Orleans will be “chocolate” again.

New Orleans proper was more than 60 percent black before Hurricane Katrina displaced about three-quarters of its population, but sparing predominantly white neighborhoods.

Along Martin Luther King Blvd., a grassy median near a King statue and memorial was cleaned up and landscaped in advance of today’s. Many of the buildings nearby, including a major housing project nearby, are abandoned and in ruins, still bearing the water stains left behind by flooding.

But Nagin promises that all of the city’s residents will be encouraged to return and rebuild the neighborhoods they loved.

Nagin said New Orleans will be a majority African American city.

That sounds good to me. He also said that GOD was mad at America. I think GOD was cleansing. N.O.was a dump to start with. I hope it becomes chocolate again and all the chocolate drops move there, then use the aid money to erect a fence around it.

    What is Your Favorite Flavor?

I could not possibly add anything to this comment. Of all the days to utter such a comment, leave it to the Honorable Mayor “School bus” Nagin to let slip such a pristine example of buffoonery. Instead of paying homage to Dr. Martin Luther…

Knothead Nagin is just pandering to the PC Left he thinks is running this country. He’ll be out of a job the next election.

If Louisana wised up, the Democrat party will hold very few seats after the next election.

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

Given the invective spouted by Nagin and others, it’s no wonder we have global warming. The earth has been tilted off its axis from the gyroscopic force of Rev. King’s spinning in his grave.

#7: How sad it is that we are further from that dream now than when Dr. King stated it. The DemokRats/Liberals/Race-baiters/PC’ers/Poverty Pimps have focused totally on the color of people’s skin.

If there ever was a “plantation” it’s been created by the racist dumbocrats over the past 60 years..keeping their slaves fat and happy with welfare, keeping their children too stoopid to figure out the sham by shackling them in those babysitting gulags they call “public schools” and making republicans into the boogeyman so they march (are driven, drug, coerced, etc.) to the polls, each november, like modern day slaves, to pull their massa’s lever.

Morgan Freeman offered an opinion some time ago that really made me think. He said that we shouldn’t have black history month, and that true racial equality will only occur when people stop paying attention to it. This article made me realize how stupid black history month is:

Arcane- Black History month is not stupid, but after 70 years, it should not be in our schools as a dedicated month. It was set up as a week with the intention of it one day not being necessary. Black history would become a natural part of history ,not black or white or red, but HISTORY . (As it should be.) Instead of stopping the week, we lengthened it to a month!
