When You Miss A Deadline, Burn The Place Down
This story has me in stitches! Joshua White, a campaign aide to Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor , had a major project due last Monday but was not able to complete the task. Not knowing what else to do, he allegedly set fire to the office building.
White was hired by the campaign last July after working as a researcher with the state Democratic Party.
Taylor is running against Secretary of State Cathy Cox in the Democratic primary.
The winner will take on Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue in November’s general election.
Campaign staffers first realized something was amiss Tuesday morning when White did not show up for work without notifying anyone.
By Tuesday night, the campaign fired White and notified authorities.
“In my 25 years of doing this, just when you think you’ve seen everything in a campaign, something will surprise you,” Dent said.White was charged with arson.
He may face an additional charge of breaking and entering, authorities said.

I can kind of understand what the guy was going through. After all, “the dog ate it” excuse has worn thin…about 40 years ago, that is.

Gee, is it as funny as Dick Cheney shooting someone, or as Jack Abramoff defrauding his clients, or Bush telling federal disaster officials “We are fully prepared to help” those affected by Hurricane Katrina?
