I really didn't believe people thought this way. What is so wrong with peace? I mean life is so short why are in you such a hurry to end it. Why is being a liberal such a bad thing? What is wrong with helping our fellow man/woman, living on non-polluted earth (for our kids and grand kids), not torturing them. Again all I can say is wow :?: All I can say is WOW.. While the writers of that article have analyzed and described McCarthy well, there is no longer any need to understand him, enable him, or indulge him once you get to the part about "As the moral and peaceful solution after 9-11, Mr. McCarthy called on America to apologize to the terrorists and ask for forgiveness in reciprocation." Anyone who could believe that, who could really think that is the answer, that could put their faith in a solution like that is either: 1. Mentally ill. 2. A complete idiot. 3. A self-deluded moron. 4. All of the above. The entire weight of history stands as witness against appeasement to evil as a successful response. Now of course McCarthy would probably argue that the terrorists are not evil, then go on to rationalize their behavior while painting America as evil. That is where items 1 through 4 above manifest their applicability. People like McCarthy can think what they want, can stand on the street corner and proselytyze all they want, write letters to the editor all they want. They shouldn't be agendizing classroom teaching on the public dollar and damaging the minds of students. McCarthy and all extremist whackos like him, whatever their stripes, should be fired. How could the USA possibly apologize to people who murder indiscriminately and try to use the holy book of the Koran as justification? This is not peace, it is absurdity. This "teacher" should be fired, it's embarrassing that the school still employs him. Do administrators audit these classes? If not, this situation definitely provides a major incentive... Teachers have an enormous responsibility; shaping and molding the minds of the men and women who will ultimately be running the USA in one of the most difficult periods of history the nation has ever faced (health care, the rise of china, continued globalization). When a teacher abuses this power, swift action must occur. Apologize for September 11th?
