The Hill reports on House Democrats proposing a $60 billion cut in defense spending.
Democrats employed the same strategy in 1975 when they voted to withdraw funding for military operations in Southeast Asia. This appears to be the beginning of a similar move to ensure America’s defeat in Iraq.

My point is that whatever happens in Iraq (Good or bad) cannot be attributed to the American media or the “Liberals” in Congress.

Actually Zelda, the point is that as long as the media and the liberal left keep spewing lies about what’s happening in Iraq, the US Populace will think we are losing there. Look at yourself. You’ve had your dose of kool aid and even the truth that we are doing very well there by all truthful accounts won’t sink in. The soldiers report that the general population in Iraq are VERY happy that they are there and are more afraid of them leaving before the job is done than of any violence escalating because they are there.
Why is it that the liberal left is jumping in line behind Jack Murtha who has never been to Iraq, and shunning Joe Lieberman who has been there multiple times? Could it be that when Joe tells the truth about what’s going on there it doesn’t match the liberal agenda as well as Jack Murtha’s LIES? Do you realize that the single greatest indicator of troop morale, reenlistment rates, is at an all time high? Do you think anyone, who is demoralized and hanging on by a thread like Murtha claims, signs up to go do it for another 4 to 6 years? Murtha is either going senile, or a political hack liar. Marines have even told him to shut up he doesn’t speak for them. Marines do not speak to retired senior officers like that lightly.
The Main Stream Media has even proclaimed a secular civil war has started in Iraq between the Sunnis and the Shiites. If there were a civil war occurring in Iraq, why is it that the Shia Cleric (Not a big fan of the US might I add) Muqtada Al Sadr sent his armed militia (the Mahdi Army) to protect SUNNI Mosques and worshippers from violence? Why is it that there are over 4000 tips on the location of terrorists and their IEDs coming in to the hotline set up for that every month? If the Iraqis are so anxious for us to leave, why is it that so many of the detonation devices for the IEDs are being traced back to IRAN? Do you know why the US doesn’t consider many of the Iraqi Battalions fully combat ready? Because the US military requires that a battalion be totally self sufficient including having kitchen facilities to be considered combat ready.
Iraq has more children in school than ever in its history. More villages have running water than ever before. There are more cell phones in Iraq than in its history. The police and security forces are better trained and armed than in their history.
Why isn’t this being highlighted in the NEWS? Because it doesn’t fit in with the HATE BUSH liberal agenda. Do you think his approval ratings would be where they are if the TRUTH were being broadcast instead of the pack of lies and half truths that are being put out as news?
I realize that I have asked you a lot of questions Zelda. Perhaps if you do a little research and apply some critical thinking you’ll see that the liberal media and politicians are trying to lose this war by demoralizing the soldiers, seamen, airmen and marines fighting it and eroding support for it here at home. Put down the kool aid cup, fire up the brain cells, and do a little critical thinking and you’ll discover that the liberals don’t have a leg to stand on that’s not propped up by lies.
BTW the argument that there weren’t any WMDs in Iraq is specious because we found enough chemical agents to wipe out small towns. Anywhere you can find small quantities, there have almost certainly been larger ones. Another way to look at it would be to say that because the LAPD destroyed x number of Meth labs in LA last year, there aren’t any there now. Of course that’s an idiotic argument. Just because they destroyed x number of labs, doesn’t mean there weren’t actually x + y number of labs to start with.
