Hillary and Wal-Mart

I read this op-ed at Town Hall which states that Hillary Clinton has taken a stand against Wal-Mart for what she phrased “Serious differences with current company practices.”

What are the company practices that she objects to? Is it that they allowed her, as a board member, to travel with her husband, then governor, on the corporate jet to launch a presidential campaign? No she didn’t say that. Could it be that she was a paid board member and did receive stock options? No, she didn’t say that either.

The author summarized his feelings with this:

The real issue on her mind is surely, as usual, more political than principled: the current crusade by the left against Wal-Mart. The controlling wing of the Democratic Party seems perpetually caught in the mindset of its heyday, from FDR through LBJ, when politics was seen as the management of three branches of society ” Big Government, Big Labor, and Big Business. A successful, big business like Wal-Mart is supposed to have a Big Labor component, a union, which is supposed to run the company into the ground, er, “help the employees.” And between the two of them they are to churn as much money to and from Big Government as possible.

If Hillary thinks this is the direction she should go, more power to her! She will find that people don’t like their pricing messed with!

It’s funny, when I was growing up, we learned that companies were good for the country. We learned that they employed people and kept the economy going. We were told that when we grow up, we would work. Work at a company owned by others or at a company we created, but company was the key word. Even a self employed person works for their own company. It took a company for the unions to form. Because of the unions, we now have labor laws which are vital. Now that we have the laws, we don’t need the unions. We don’t need unions and we don’t need anymore of Hillary’s whitewashing of her past.

  1. Hillary the Red Rat, has been with the other pigs in Washington been working for years for china and the Reds to make us into a third world hell on earth. why do people love the rats? the reason why most people on earth have a slave mind set and the rats need enemies and you someday who are not part of that mind set will be called the worlds enemies, fight the evil take up arms for freedom of a nation and a real idea of Truth with duty and responsibility for a world free of rats like Hillary and the one world reds.

see new deal being made now with the reds in china, you will love that idea of madness of handing over your ports and the security of this nation to the red Chinese.
see L.A. And the Red Flags and how the south Americans and Mexicans will help in your mass murder for Hillary and the Washington pigs, don’t be the new Jew fight back.

I have my guns do you?

  2. Its well known that the demacratic partty are big time supporters of these crooked labor unions so why should we be surprised:roll:

  3. I think Wal-Mart is getting an undeserved bad rap by these small minded liberals. I think Wal-Mart represents many of the things that make America great.

  4. well, I agree wholeheartedly about Wal-Mart. It employs a lot people, and offeres thousands of items at a great price…what the hell is wrong with that?

I personally, however, do not shop there.. unfornately it’s right across the street from Target, and, for better or worse, Target seems to be a little more selective in their hiring practices, resulting in a much more positive customer service experience at Target, as opposed to Wal-mart.

  5. Time to tie knots in the jackasses tails:lol:

  6. My only beef with WM is that they are loaded to the gils with cheap Chinese crap. Much of it isn’t worth hauling home because it lasts for about a week, breaks, then you just have to dispose of it.

But it seems like so many other stores are doing almost the same thing. WM, though, has been so aggressive about it.

You try to buy American, but sometimes it is not possioble.

This is also another example of hypocrisy by HilLiary. When Billary were in the White House, they financed an airport in Arkansas for Tyson Foods (their buddies) at taxpayer expense, so Tyson wouldn’t have to. HilLiary rails against greedy Capitalism, but when it’s in her interest, why, Capitalism is god! GREED is good! How ‘BOUT them cattle futures (thinly-disguised payoff)?

  7. Mike- That is the exact reason I shop at Target. I only shopped at Wal-Mart 1 time and the employees are what drove me away.

Zelda- When you shop for or did shop for supplies for your child, diapers and formula etc..did you find that you shopped for the best deal or did you stick to your basic shopping routine? I ask this because those 2 things run a bill up very quickly at the grocery store..

  8. Robert- what type of items are you referring to? I am just curious..also, just a suggestion, but start shopping dollar stores..it doesn’t hurt as much if it breaks in a week:wink:

  9. 7.

Seriously..both parking lots are equally full, but the Target lines run quickly and smoothly.. the store is cleaner than wal-mart, and the sales associates are mildly knowledgable.

  10. I agree with you Mike. That is how I feel to a tee!

  11. Peejz;

I tend to show at different stores. I have no loyalty to any store. The stores I go to most are Food Lion, Wal-Mart, Target, and Farm Fresh. Different stores have different benefits.

However, Wal-Mart wins the award for the dumbest average employee.

  12. actually McDonald’s takes the cake for dumbest employees here in the People’s Republic of Philadelphia.

And can someone answer me the following… why do female workers at mcDonald’s refuse to fill a french fry container up to capacity? While the male employee will typically fill it until the fries are spilling over….why is this?

  13. #8, Peejz, anything in the way of tools. Plus many/most consumer electronics (this of course is not specific to Wal Mart). Just about anything plastic.
Many small consumer items. I bought a small LED flashlight from Wal Mart about a year ago. After a short time, it became intermittent; couldn’t get it to come on. Turns out the on/off switch is so cheaply made it just stopped working after about 50 on/off cycles. Guess it’s time to throw that away too (made in China).
That’s what I mean by not worth hauling home. Heck, not even worth the energy used to fabricate and transport it.

  14. Also, you’re right about the dollar stores. Same Chinese junk, just sells for less. Consider anything purchased there disposable.

  15. I can’t wait for the Chinese to start selling cars in America cheaper than the Japanese. I figure in 5-10 years Chinese cars will be good enough and cheap enough to rival Japanese cars. I’ll trade in my Toyota for a Zhongxing.

  16. Zelda you are a lovable ass!

  17. Thanks for the explanation Robert…and you are right, it isn’t limited to WM, but on some things, I think we can’t sacrifice quality for price.

  18. “Middle New”

What the hell is that, Zelda?

You forget that I speak Mandarin.

  19. Hebei Zhongxing Automobile Manufacturing Co. is a Chinese car firm. As far as I know there are no names for the Chinese cars to be sold in America yet so I picked the name Zhongxing. It looked very Chinese to me so I went with it.

  20. nice. It will be interesting to see which way they go with it… probably pick corny names just like the japananese and Korean manufacturers… alantra..sonoma..corolla…etc.

You probably won’t see the Zhong Xing “Xin Quai”! (New, fast)
    haha

  21. How about the “Commie”? It comes in red of course.

  22. How about the “Political Activist”? In Yellow with a spattering of red.

  23. Darn, you beat me to that Z!

  24. Peejz,

My brother thanks you for shopping at Target. He’s an IT manager there.
