The U.N. Security Council demanded Wednesday that Iran suspend uranium enrichment, the first time the powerful body has directly urged Tehran to clear up suspicions that it is seeking nuclear weapons.
Members of the council wanted to reach a deal before Thursday, when foreign ministers from the five veto-wielding council members and Germany meet in Berlin to discuss strategy on Iran.
Diplomats would not say exactly what will happen if Iran does not comply with the statement within 30 days, but suggested that would be discussed by the foreign ministers in Berlin.
I bet they warn them and then impose sanctions, and then write resolutions that Iran is allowed to break at least 20 times!
the U.N. A joke for all season:roll:
This whole Iran thing is a complete joke. It’s like deja vu with Iraq. They are going to keep doing whatever they want to with their nuke program.
Zelda, I couldn’t agree with you more and I almost spit my coffee when I read this
The really troubling part about it is that Iran was once our ally. Of course thanks to certain political parties, both here and there, that alliance ended many years ago. Be that as it may we are certainly in a pickle as to what to do.
While I have no faith in the U.N. I’m hoping for a diplomatic solution that comes in the form of new leadership in Iran. There are many citizens in that country who do not want this.
I agree Zelda!
if you really want to understand Iran and that part of the world read what Alex Jones, its all about control.
our government is saying one thing and doing some Else and understand one fact of life nothing is what it appear to be.
