It’s Starting To Sound Like Slavery

By: Pam On: Apr/2/06 -

The excuses I am hearing from wealthy, well know people, are startling to say the very least.

Erica Jong, author of “Fear Of Flying”, was on Real Time With Bill Maher. The subject of illegal immigration came up, and Erica put her two cents into why it is necessary…they help the single women like her raise their children. That’s right, a woman with financial security and beyond needs for the illegals to stay in the country so she can pay slave labor rates. Bill darn near choked. If you can’t afford to pay a living wage, including taxes etc., then you can not afford a nanny. Go to a daycare center! When the transcript is available I will update this.

Mayor Bloomberg of New York had this to say:

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says golf fairways would suffer if illegal immigrants were returned to their native country.

“You and I are beneficiaries of these jobs,” Bloomberg told his WABC-AM radio co-host, John Gambling. “You and I both play golf; who takes care of the greens and the fairways in your golf course?”
However, Robert Heaney, general manager of Deepdale Golf Club — a Long Island course where Bloomberg often plays — told The New York Daily News that no illegal immigrants work at the club.

“Deepdale Golf Club has always been in 100 percent compliance with all immigration laws, and it is absolutely our policy to remain in compliance with all immigration laws,” Heaney said.
The mayor also said 25 percent of undocumented immigrants are farm workers and many are home health care workers.

“Nobody wants to deport them, in the end, because people need them to take these jobs and do the things that nobody else is doing,” Bloomberg said.

Oh brother!

Yes, it is quite telling what is coming out of the mouth of the elitists. They do want a permanent, economic slave class.

This reminds me of a line by Richard Pryor from the early 1980s, after wave after wave of Vietnamese immigrants came to the U.S. Richard’s explanation for why they were allowed to come here:

“They needed some new niggers because the old ones were gettin’ too uppity.”

Any worker wanting more than minimum wage, which is below the poverty line, is too uppity for the elite. They want their lawns moved and their trash emptied and their toilets cleaned, but dammit, they’re not going to pay anyone a living wage to do it.

Illegals would be a lot easier to deal with in an “enforcement only” sense if they were mostly white. Which they are not, as we all know, and which is also definitely part of the problem with them in other ways (higher rates of criminality, lower rates of high school graduation, etc). The whole issue is pretty much hopelessly saturated with racially sensitive political correctness — in other words, a truly honest and open discussion about it is next to impossible. So you can trust almost nothing you read or hear — a lot of it is posturing and name-calling avoidance (racist, xenophobe, nativist, etc). All of that is partly responsible for the phony, misguided, condescending benevolence — in the ‘white man’s burden sense — shown by people like Jong and Bloomberg.
