Conservative Talk Radio Under Attack In Arizona

By: Pam On: Apr/10/06 - 11 Comments

Hat tip to PCD for bringing me this story being cover by Brian Maloney, from Radio Equalizer. It appears that remarks made by K-F-Y-I Radio host Brian James last month are causing some problems.

According to a transcript, during one segment of his show, James suggested a solution to the immigration problem was to randomly pick one night a week to kill anyone coming across the border.

Was it a stupid thing to suggest even in jest? You bet, but no worse than this skit from The Randi Rhodes Show on Air America. But it appears that the reasons for the outrage are not humanitarian , they are political.

    Conservative HATE-TALK RADIO.

No wonder it’s so popular with some of you people. It appeals to your most basic emotions!!

    Like FEAR, for example.

Fear of people, cultures, and ideas different from your own. So what do they do? They attack, attack, attack.

Now it’s come down to talking about shooting people? Does Air America ever talk about shooting people? Not that I’m aware of…

Please. This has “for ratings” written all over it…

    turn it off, folks.

    Hey, SF Lib —

We aren’t afraid of people, cultures, or ideas different from our own (unless, of course, they are terrorists trying to kill us). We are simply fed up with those who enter our country in defiance of our laws and sovereignty. I say that as a teacher in a school which is at least 50% Hispanic, many of them illegally here.

But since you are talking about folks who are afraid of people, cultures, and ideas that are different from your own, could you tell me if you supported or opposed the actions of your own Board of Supervisors in condemning teenagers because they are Christians and pointedly told them they were unwelcome in your “tolerant” city? Did you support the attempt by your Board of Supervisors to resurrect anti-Catholic stereotypes and instigate schism because the Church has ideas and beliefs which differ from those that predominate in Sodom-by-the-Bay? Just curious — I’m trying to find out if you are ignorant, hypocritical, or suffer from a psychological trait known as “projection”.
