The 400 Million Dollar Man

By: Lisa On: Apr/14/06 -

Lee Raymond of ExxonLee Raymond is set for life.

Nearly $400 million for a retirement package including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.

Wow! Now THAT’s a retirement package to beat all retirement packages.

Lee Raymond is the retiring chairman of Exxon.

In 2004, Lee Raymond’s bonus was $3.6 Million dollars. His BONUS!

Lee Raymond’s paycheck in 2005 was $51.1 Million. That’s equivalent to $141,000 a day, nearly $6,000 an hour.

Meanwhile, I’m paying $2.98 for a gallon of gas - - what are you paying where you live?

More: Durbin’s Windfall Profits Tax bill would impose an excise tax on integrated oil and gas companies equal to 50 percent of their profits over a baseline price of $40 per barrel of oil.

What are your plans for the Easter weekend? Gas prices are soaring just in time for holiday travels - how convienent.

If we went into Iraq for the oil - where the hell is it?

Given the price of gasoline, it doesn’t surprise me. Need to get rid of the gasoline engine.

It’s called a free-market economy and this is the result. Corporations have one goal: profit. Can’t blame them really because we enable the behavior.

Fred, when people claim Iraq is a war for oil, they aren’t meaning it’s to get gasoline to us cheap — it means securing a supply-line of oil, as you state.

Oil is a commodity. Regardless of the price at the gas pump, it costs exactly the same to extract and refine.

Does excessive profit not only fall under the sin of “greed”, but also “gluttony”? Pigs at the Trough.

You should be so hard working industrious intelligent. Get off your blogasses and start or buy a business. Take a risk for once. You might actually accomplish something constructive and make a few dollars.

Let’s applaud the Republicans while they march to the tune of “God, Guns and Gays” while they give tax breaks to the “400 million dollar man”.

If you want a culture of life, quit sucking it out of the citizenry!

I don’t care if he makes 500 billion a year, it’s a fucking free country…and if YOU don’t like it..don’t buy his product.

When did all the communists come out from hiding?

Mike, he’s welcome to every penny that he can legitimately earn. Let’s see how much he earns though, when the playing field is leveled. Exxon and their ilk get a profound amount of welfare from the government in the form of tax cuts and various legislative pork.

I’m a businessman who has to file my schedule K-1 with the IRS every year just like the rest of them. I know for a fact that my business doesn’t get even close to the sweet tax deal that the big boys get.

the “big boys” create wealth, jobs, innovation and technology

we should not only not care what they are paid…we should be kissing their hairy bean bags for their contribution to capitalism.

    greed IS good.
