Good Job Governor Perdue!
From the AP
An untold number of Georgia’s active black police officers who were denied access to a state retirement fund for decades because of their skin color can now be compensated for those years that they were wrongly denied the benefit.
Gov. Sonny Perdue signed into law Tuesday a measure that reverses the Jim Crow restrictions that prevented black officers with service before 1976 – the year the program was desegregated – from enrolling in Georgia’s Peace Officers Annuity and Benefit Fund.
I am happy to see that Perdue is cleaning up Carter’s mess…these mem and women deserve this and more..Now Perdue needs to take this to the next level, as the officers who have already retired are still not eligible for benefits stemming from their years of service before 1976.

[...] What I love about the right is their lack of historical knowledge for the most part. There are some, like Pat Buchanan, who have an encyclopedic knowledge of American history. Then there are others, like Ann Coulter, who will make the claim that Alexander Hamilton was one of our Presidents. Then there are the usual conservative Americans who don’t know much about states outside of the one they live in. The author of Right Voices happens to be one of those types: Right Voices – Good Job Governor Perdue! The racist Phony Jimmy Carter’s Nobel Peace Prize (what a freakin’ joke that was) should be confiscated to compensate some of these officers.
