<em>"If you don't believe that the MSM are acting in concert, why do newscasts from multiple networks use virtually the same wording? Are the words "Hubris”, "Gravitas”, Etc, etc so commonly used that they would be likely to turn up in the news reports from multiple networks were not the news writers working in concert?".</em>

These kinds of things are documented regularly. I think it is because there are a very few editiors originating these stories, and the so-called journalists, reporters, and commentators on in the MSM are simply newsreaders and parrots. Of course most are Leftists, so they are quite happy with the content, tone, and spin. But mostly they are just parroting what they have been spoon fed. And since it comes from a very few actual originating sources, it is all the more noticeable and pronounced.

Didn't someone do a study some time ago that found 89% of the people in the media voted Democrite? That's pretty telling, imo.

I really wish that people would realize that responses to opinion polls begin and end with the people writing the questions. He who frames the debate wins it. It's like the old "Yes or NO, Have you stopped beating your wife?" question. I've gotten a number of polls over the phone and normally within two questions, I can tell who wrote them. Whenever someone preaches from the rafters that something is so, day in and day out, for months, they tend to gain credibility, whether what they're saying is true or not. For them to then go out, and using questions that they have framed to illicit a complicit response to their proclamations, and poll their listeners is simply a test to determine their own success in convincing people of their credibility. It does nothing to prove or disprove that what they are saying is true, only that they have convinced people that it is so.

Hitler called this the "Big Lie". If a lie is big enough that it would seem ludicrous if closely examined, people will be more likely to believe it than one that is only slightly improbable. If that lie is continually repeated frequently enough, it will sink into the subconscious of the listener and become accepted as fact. Would you be more likely to believe something if 10 people told you it was true while 2 people told you it was a lie? Everyone is more likely to believe the 10 strangers versus the 2 strangers.

If you don't believe that the MSM are acting in concert, why do newscasts from multiple networks use virtually the same wording? Are the words "Hubris", "Gravitas", Etc, etc so commonly used that they would be likely to turn up in the news reports from multiple networks were not the news writers working in concert? How likely is it that these words, that had never been used previously, end up in the news reports on multiple networks in virtually identical wording on the same day? Why is it that while most of the newscasts and newspapers are written on a 3rd to 5th grade level, criticisms of Bush include words that require most college grads to go looking for a dictionary? It reminds me of a political campaign from the old west wherein one candidate put up posters that his opponent's sister was a known Thespian, and that his opponent was an avowed Homo Sapien. Of course it was all true. His sister was an actress, and he was a human. However because the charges were made to sound so horrendous, the facts of their reality meant nothing. The original poster won the election simply because the populace believed the severity of the charge rather than the truth behind it. Which party is currently engaged in the "It's not the guilt or innocence that matters, it's the severity of the charge." smear campaigns?

Report on Bush's Visit To Stanford:

Last Friday 4/21, Bush visited Stanford University. I was there, and here is my eyewitness. Report. I guarantee it will contain information you will not see in any MSM report.

Bush was supposed to arrive some time in the early afternoon to visit the Hoover Institute and meet with some of its luminaries. The protesters started gathering at each access road to the Hoover building complex, bracketing it.

The protesters were moskly made up of students, but there was a sprinkling of dried up former hippies and old leftists from the 60s evident in the crowds. The total varied throughout the day, but I would estimate no more than 2500 tops at the peak, and that was all 3 areas. (not the ten thousand the MSM probably reported).

They chanted, the same unimaginative things over and over. In between simple chants like "Bush sucks!" and Bush lied, thousands died" they repeated "Hey hey, ho ho, Bush and Cheney gotta go..." "1-2-3-4, we don't want your f'war!" followed by "5-6-7-8, stop the killing, stop the hate!" )(stop the Hate indeed!).

Then some screechy woman (sounded like HilLiary) started up the old "All we are saying, is give peace a chance" blast from the past, and the old hippies were suddenly energized! It seemd as though somehow, right then and there, it was 1969 again, and they were young, stoned and opposing the status quo once again!

Then some of the Hoover Institue people walked by, and the mood turned sullen, angry, and profane. Every profanity I have ever heard was screamed over the barricades as they walked past. One of the protesters waved a sign that read "Stop the Facists (sic)!" I was beginning to wonder just what Stanford students were really getting for their $41,000/yr education, then I noticed that the holder was obviously from off campus.

I have no problems with people protestinmg and expressing their opinions, and I didn't even mind the old hippies. They were kind of amusing. But you could see who the real leaders and sparkplugs were for this protest, and it wasn't the students or the hippies. It was the hardcore Communist/Socialist professionals, as you could guess. Kinda puts things in persepctive.

I almost was tempted to pick up a "Impeach Bush!" sign and join in. If I was convincing, perhaps by periodically yelling "Bring it all down, man!" I could wangle some protest nookie. But then I don't need or want any STDs, so I discarded the idea.

Bush snookered them. Instead of going to the Hoover complex, he went to the "Schultz House" (on campus) and met with the Hoover fellows there, then left to go to Northern California. He bypassed them completely!

Eventually, when they tired of the same chants, the protest dwindled down to just the organizers and a few hard core Leftie faithfuls as the students lost interest and went to look for something more interesting, perhaps a party. After all, it was saturday night.

Isn't the Left pathetic? You's never see Conservatives (even the few times when they would go to a rally) acting or looking like that...

I'm your roving reporter, Robert, and that's the way it was...

This is an excellent site, with many intelligent posters posting some very well reasoned and articulated points.

However, they are nearly all on the Conservative side. The Left side seems to be populated by idiots who either do not fully grasp what is being discussed, or post nonsense and attempt to pass it off as supporting information.

It is not surprising because the Left is supporting a position that is basically a permanent state of wrongness. How can they defend the indefensible? But somehow they keep trying, usually falling substantially short.

They are so mired in hypocrisy (double standards), failure, and their continual affiliation with America's enemies that they are beyond help and hope.

True wankers, each and all.

Deficit spending, failure to enforce the immigration laws and close the border to enhance security, kissing Chinese President Hu's ass even as the Chinese twist the knife they are plunging into our backs. Plenty to criticize him for.
