Are They Migrants Or Illegal Aliens?

By: Pam On: Apr/30/06 - 24 Comments

Said San Francisco Liberal:

And if there weren’t people on your side whipping up fear and hatred of these migrants they might have less to fear as well.

Let’s start with the fact that he has said repeatedly that “illegal” is a derogatory slur against these people. So let’s take a look at the word he chose to use; MIGRANT

n.
One that moves from one region to another by chance, instinct, or plan.
An itinerant worker who travels from one area to another in search of work.
adj.

Migratory.

So let’s placate him by using the noun migrant with the adjective illegal which is what they are. You can play all kinds of word games, but at the end of the day, they are illegal aliens or illegal migrants.

These people should be afraid, be it today or 1 year from today. If the McCain/Kennedy bill were to pass tomorrow, these people would theoretically be tracked down. There are fines to pay for some while other wouldn’t be staying.

The way to go is to punish the employers. If the 11 million are granted amnesty, they become a useless commodity to the employer, which opens the door to a new wave of illegals.

no all people who come here illegal are enemies of freedom:evil: all need to go home and fight the fight of justice, in that person own country, “not here being used as tools of power for the few Mexican oligarchies”, who see the future of Mexico as rulers of the USA. I will not say more out of fear of being shot to death by some Mexican cop working here doing drug deals:wink:

Hmmm…SF Liberal gets his own topic based on his post. I’m jealous!

All this euphemistic rubbish, like “undocumented”, “migrant”, has to go. It is nonsense.

The correct, appropriate, factual full term is “illegal alien”. Or “illegal” for short. Plain and simple. It is fact; there is no possible argument against that that can stand.

Tomorrow, on Commie holiday May Day, the Sacramento, California Police have been told by their brass to not enforce the law when illegals march in the City. Do not enforce Federal law with respect to illegals.

This is beyond outrageous. Those that ordered that should be fired summarily. If the people that are supposed to enforce the law do not obey the law, then there is no law!

I suppose if I went to Sacramento tomorrow and ran a red light, maybe drove through too fast, it would be ok? I wouldn’t get cited? After all, I’m a good person, I mean well, and just want to feed my family and work! Shouldn’t the law be suspended for me when needed?

What I would like to see from now on is everyone who ever gets a traffic citation, everyone who ever gets arrested, should use that as a defense: I’m a well-meaning person who is just trying to work and feed my family. The precedent has been set; it’s there. And I’d like to see every Judge dismiss the charges based on that precedent: that the letter of the law is meaningless; it is all relative, situational, and subjective.

Chaos? Yes, of course. Maybe it needs to come to a crisis point to wake people up.

But that’s what this purposeful ignoring of the law, and of the will of the majority, is. You can’t have it both ways imo. You have the rule of law, or you don’t. If you can conveniently ignore the law when you want, there there is no damn law!

And this crap about how there are so many (12 million) illegals here that its just too many, we can’t hope to deport them, to enforce the law, is a huge load of bovine fecal matter. Since when have we stopped enforcing other laws because people are just going to do it anyway? Because there are just too many doing it.

Remember the 55 MPH speed limit? How many people violated that every day, knowingly, or unknowingly. Perhaps we should no longer enforce speed and other traffic laws because there are so many people violating them. They can’t all be caught, so what’s the use in trying?

This sort of logic that we can’t enforce the law because there are too many illegals is idiocy, but that is what they are saying.

Sf Liberal has been at the forefront of this argument, going into his Don Quixote mode to argue that illegals are ok, they’re a benefit to our economy and society, and that they should be allowed to stay. He believes we should just let them go. After all, they’ll be taking over soon anyway, according to him. Perhaps he wants to curry favor with them now so they’ll be kind to him when they take over.

My Plan For Uno de Mayo

I have an alternative plan which I’m putting into action tomorrow. I’d like everyone, blue-collar and white-collar, to do the same. Fear not, it’s simple. It’s not going to pull you out of work or school (for those of us

All I ‘m saying is that these people are here, and there are those who will risk death to come here to work and make their lives better.

Instead of dehumanizing them, why don’t we as a nation create smart, effective policy that deals with these people in a humane, realistic fashion.

Nobody is saying “just let them come no matter what and lets not worry about it”…what we are saying is we need to put aside our fears and prejudices and think of solutions that let these people come here to work, and have us support those in need, while not draining our own resources or weakening our national security.

There are solutions, we just need to get serious about finding them.

6-what we are saying is we need to put aside our fears and prejudices and think of solutions that let these people come here to work, and have us support those in need, while not draining our own resources or weakening our national security. Why not have their govt support their needs? That is where the problem begins…we can not afford to take every stray in the world into our welfare system, nor should we!

“There are solutions, we just need to get serious about finding them.”

The solution: Close the border, deport the illegals, turn off the magnet.

It has been stated many times already. What is there here that can’t be understood?

Robert, it’s not that we don’t understand you.

We just think it’s a lame, simple-minded, ineffective and unrealistic “solution”.

Soooo, no thanks. We all need to go back to the drawing board….

For reasons I’ve already outlined, the first step that must be taken is to close the border to prevent further intrusions into the US.

From there, turning up the heat on employers to discourage them from hiring illegal aliens would be an effective means to encourage them to return home. Many of them return to Mexico for the Christmas holidays anyway, simply make it undesirable for them to come back. The fine for hiring Illegals is supposed to be $10,000 per. Enforce that on a few employers and “Poof” the illegals won’t be able to find a job. With IFCO being busted for over 1100 illegals, that would be over $11,000,000. That is the kind of fine that makes employers think twice about who they’re hiring. It wouldn’t even take much for the IRS to send ICE after the employers. All they’d have to do is cross reference the SSN used versus the SSNs issued. 7 yr olds and dead 86 yr olds aren’t doing stucco work. One woman told me about how her employer had used her SSN for 3 of his employees. When she brought up with him that the IRS was claiming she had earned 3 times what she had actually earned, he confessed to the scam and paid the extra taxes to keep her quiet. Crooks like that deserve to lose their businesses.

As for the Illegals doing work Americans won’t do. I’ve had some really lousy jobs. I’ve work some damn long hours to make ends meet because I wasn’t earning $10 – 12/hour doing stucco work. The contractors are even firing hard working skilled Americans to hire unskilled Illegals that they then have to train to do the job poorly but at half the wage when they do’t pay the taxes and benefits. We had an illegal arrested here who was making $19/hour operating a crane. Where did an illegal learn to operate a crane? Illegal Alien crae operator school? NO. They hired him knowing he was an illegal and then trained him to do the job for $19/hr versus paying a skilled American to do it for $25 plus benefits.

Doesn’t she deserve some sort of punishment as well, for keeping her mouth shut?

She was a customer who came into a store I was working for at the time. I didn’t know her well enough to get the IRS involved. I did get the BATF involved on an illegal gun running operation in Philadelphia a few years ago.

“As for the Illegals doing work Americans won’t do. I’ve had some really lousy jobs.”

Amen. Me too. My first job was at age 5, picking prunes in an orchard in Campbell, CA (they used to have orchards in those days in the San Jose area). When I was a little older, 7 or 8, I graduated to cutting apricots. You got 40 cents per box for cutting the apricots open with a knife, removing the pit, then placing the halves inside up on a wooden tray where they would be sulfured and dried. When I was big enough, I picked apricots in the field. Right alongside the illegals. Made 25 cents per bucket picked. In high school, I worked summers at a cannery. Right alongside the immigrants (those were probably legal). During the school year, I worked part time at a used furnitire store. $2 per hour in the early 1970s. I had to work part time every day after school for two weeks to get enough money, after taxes, to buy pair of shoes I wanted.

After high school I worked as a janitor, a custodian, some construction. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I got a really good gig in HR at the Mustang Ranch in Sparks, Nevada. I was the new applicant evaluator. (Just kidding about that last part).

So I really don’t need to hear about jobs Americans won’t do. They will do them if they are paid a workable wage. The employers that want illegals just want to get by with paying substandard, slave wages and letting the rest of the economy unfairly subsidize their industry.

If they lefgalize the illegals here, that will just bring in a fresh round of illegals to keeop driving the wages down, hurting the poor and lower middle class the most just so a bunch of fat cats and elitists can get their lettuce picked, lawns mowed, toilets cleaned, and trash emptied for less than they should be paying.

You know what I have learned from all of this discussion of “migrant workers”..????????

Fuck democracy, fuck capitalism, fuck freedom…what we need to be exporting to Afghanistan, Iraq, the rest of the thirld world are……MEXICANS.

apparently, the mexicans are the single hardest working people the earth has ever seen, and economies cannot possibly operate without their labor.

so, china, russia, india, indonesia, afghanistan, iraq….come get yourself some Mexicans…

your economy…your very future depends on it!
