USA Today fawns over Colbert’s performance. They report Colbert was happy with himself, too:

At the Bloomberg News post-show party, with guests including Desperate Housewives star James Denton, ER’s Maura Tierney, Terence Howard, Ron Silver and others, Colbert was almost the last person to arrive. He seemed pleased with his performance.
“I had a great time. The president killed. He’s a tough act to follow — at all times. It’ll be a tough for whoever comes in 2008, too.”

Colbert said the president seemed to get a kick out of the comedy.

“He was very nice. He was like, ‘Good job, good job.’ ”

Left-leaning E&P liked Colbert, too.

Plenty of Laughs at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

If you didn’t catch the Bush Bush comedy routine at the Correspondents’ Association, you missed a few good laughs. He brought out an impersonator, Steve Bridges, to give the crowd his real thoughts, as he played the polite politician. Here

I heard Bush wasn’t laughing during Colberts rip-a-thon on the Bush Admin.

Some people said he went over the line.

3- Let me say that I love Colbert and watch him regularly, but I guess I was expecting what I watch every night and to me it was a different person!

    “no one was laughing…he bombed.”

I find that unlikely. Colbert is freakin’ hilarious. I’d have to catch some footage…haven’t looked at the links here yet.

SF Lib misses having cable TV sometimes.

I really miss Comedy Central, the Daily Show, Colbert…South Park…

Too much Cable TV rots your brain, though.

Watching the Daily Show is like watching Letterman..same old same old and you can anticipate the format…nothing new!

I would rather have Lyndie England point at my nut sack for pics than sit through one minute of John Liebowitz’s snorefest.

    Come on, he’s great!

you guys just don’t like him because he makes fun of your ideology!

    I don’t like him because he’s a moronic, unfunny, self-hating Jew.

Well, I think he’s hilarious. His show is clearly a hit, I think it’s Comedy Centrals “flagship” program now.

We are talking about the same thing, right? The Daily Show?

How can you not like it?!?!

“Self-hating jew”?? What? Because he uses a stage name? Err…

  15. mike kilo Says:
    15

because he uses a stage name, and advocates policies that would result in the destruction of Israel.

11 and 13- I watched his show and found myself getting bored. I love Colbert as I find him fresh…I just don’t think Jon is all that funny.
