Iran threatens Israel if US acts “evil”
Iran threatened on Tuesday to attack Israel in response to any “evil” act by the United States and said it had enriched uranium to a level close to the maximum compatible with civilian use in power stations.
If the US acts evil?? Ok – I mean, the US isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, right? Every country has it’s own history to deal with. But to respond to any ‘evil’ act with a nuclear attack on Israel… well that’s just downright… evil, isn’t it? And imagine the US response to an Iranian attack on Israel?
What is this? A contest of who can be the most evil in their response to evil?
Forget about the Axis of Evil – - how about a worldwide, never ending loop of evil?
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
Kind of an evil free-for-all, if you will, with each party one-upping the next in the evil game. And in the end, the winning Evil Emporers get ALL the worlds virgins. Parents, lock up your daughters.
Meanwhile, Iran said the US was “openly” planning to attack Iran in breach of international law…Tehran insists it has the right to a peaceful nuclear energy programme, although the US suspects it is trying to develop atomic weapons.
Unsurprisingly, Iran says Russia and China will not back UN sanctions against Iran.

OK, calm down conservative America.
Iran would FIRST NEED NUCLEAR WEAPONS if they were to nuke Isreal.
Will be YEARS before that happens. Sooo…everyone needs to relax.
yes, much like you would have had us “relax” as saddam ran his rape rooms, butchered his people and filled his mass graves.
San Fran….Iran DOES HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Much like Pakistan shocked the world a few years back I think Iran is about to give us a demonstration real soon of their power.
Bon Bon.. dosen’t matter… until the French give us permission…or Kofi Annan…we are not allowed to do anything to protect Israel or ourselves.
right, SF?
Jesus Harold Christ, SF…. really. I mean, you sound like the fucking idiots in New Orleans who didn’t believe a hurricane was coming until they were swimming in their attics….WAKE THE FUCK UP, MAN!
Oh hell – why not just wait around until they DO have them? The proactive approach is so over-rated, eh?
No Lisa, SF is still in the “Bury-your-head-in-the-sand-and-muslims-will-stop-killing” school of thought.
6. Ha, I was actually thinking the same thing. Just say, “okay Iran; you may be able to launch 1 30 kilo-ton bomb, but we can launch 5,000 300 kilo-ton Bombs. Your call.â€
M.A.D. worked with the Soviet Union.
As I said, Zelda… Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
“San Fran:.Iran DOES HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS.”
Ummm, NO , they do not.
“Oh hell – why not just wait around until they DO have them? The proactive approach is so over-rated, eh?”
Gee, Lisa…after all, THAT approach worked great in Iraq!!!
Let’s try it again!
True, Iran does not currently have a nuclear weapon – but they’re surely headed in that direction.. sooner, rather than later.
Iran’s Nuclear Weapons
Good point Zelda. While I am of the opinion they already have something up and running the fact is they know we have much more ‘fire power’ if you will.
San Fran, I have issues with Iraq – it’s hard not to.
Let’s face it, though, hindsight is 20/20 for everyone – the sanctions in Iraq weren’t working, either. Everyone and their brother thought Iraq had the dreaded WMD.. perhaps if Saddam had been more forthright nad up front about his programs… Yet, we’ve all argued that position time and time again.
Iran, on the other hand, is being very up front about their intentions. They want nuclear – they are headed in that direction and they want to wipe Israel off the map.
No guessing game there.
The mad mullahs are going to wind up being very unhappy if they try anything. Judgement day is coming and I don’t mean that in a religious sense.
The best thing that could happen would be for Iran to move against Israel..
time to cowboy up.
“hindsight is 20/20 for everyone”
Not for SF Liberal. I opposed this boondoggle from DAY ONE. I wanted more time for inspections. Saddam was a terrible, terrible man, but he was isolated militarily and internationally.
“Iran, on the other hand, is being very up front about their intentions. They want nuclear – they are headed in that direction and they want to wipe Israel off the map.”
Just thinking out loud here, not my official Iran platform, but what if Iran really was sincere when they say they want nuclear power for energy needs only? Do they not have a right to cleaner energy than the filthy oil they have plenty of?
Can we step outside our box for one moment and consider, from the Iranian point of view, how being held down on this issue could be humiliating?
Nukes: Consider that if anyone were to hit Israel or anyplace in the world with a nuclear weapon in anger, the overwhelming response would be to wipe Iran off the map – and that wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
I mean, don’t you think it would be counter productive to destroy a nation only to have your destroyed?
Again, this isn’t my position on Iran, I’m just thinking out loud here.
SF.. ok… I see you are all for Iran developing clean, nuclear energy….
now… WHY THE FUCK WON’T YOUR SIDE LET US DO THE SAME???
SF, your major character flaw is believing the best intentions in people, and not recognizing that there exists evil in this world (independent of George W. Bush and Halliburton)
“Wiping Israel off the map” is just rhetoric to placate the religious extremists in his country and abroad.
It almost seems like he’s BEGGING not to be attacked by terrorists like Egypt, Pakistan, and the like….
I don’t think Iran would be as big of an Islamic radical target if the president wasn’t at least rhetorically on “their side”…
SF.. do you really believe that? Seriously, I have to party with you, cuz you clearly have access to some good shit.
“Wiping Israel of the Map” is the goal of: are you ready?
Saudi Arabia
Kuwait
Syria
Egypt
Lybia
UAE
Qatar
etc. etc. etc. etc
Iran just has a leader who will say it out loud.
Not really, Mike.
I think they have each have citizens and religious leaders who may say that, but I can only name two governments that back that up officially.
Iran and the Hamas government of the PA.
I seriously doubt the US would have such good, close ties with, say, Saudi Arabia if they endorsed “wiping Israel off the map” officially.
Prove me wrong…
SF, ideally – I agree with you on the nuclear power option. On one hand, I find it hypocritical that the Bush administration won’t ‘rule out nuclear attack on Iran” if Iran doesn’t cease it’s nuclear program. Attacking a country with the very weapons that we say they arent’ allowed to have is a little more like..’do as i say, not as i do’ type of mindset that I don’t agree with at all.
When you read the news and listen to this leader from Iran talk – in your heart of hearts, do you seriously believe Iran is looking to create a peaceful nuclear energy program? I’m just thinking out loud here, but I’m thinking their intentions go beyond that.
Of course Mullah MoFo, or whatever the President of Iran’s name is, is really a cool guy who just says that wacky stuff, like, oh, I don’t know, “We’ll wipe Israel off the face of the earth” just for laughs, really. Did you know he was an amateur comedian? It’s just part of his schtick. You know, you gotta give the crowds what they want!
Right, SFL?
Since Iran elected this man, has a month, if not week, gone by that he has not threatened to wipe Israel off the map?
“I think they have each have citizens and religious leaders who may say that, but I can only name two governments that back that up officially.
Iran and the Hamas government of the PA.”
And guess what? Iran is exactly who we’re talking about! Shaaazzzaaammmm!!!
You just made the point.
“When you read the news and listen to this leader from Iran talk – in your heart of hearts, do you seriously believe Iran is looking to create a peaceful nuclear energy program?”
I certainly don’t think it’s black and white. I don’t think Mullah MoFo says “A”, and therefor “B” must happen.
Yes, I do believe Iran wants nuclear energy. It’s cheaper, cleaner and more advanced than Oil.
Yes, I think they want a nuclear weapon – but probably not for attack, probably for defense and for regional posturing.
Iran is thinking: “Who would be crazy enough to invade/attack Iran if we had nuclear weapons at our disposal?”
I think the idea that they would attack if given the chance can’t be disproved, but I would think it would be HIGHLY unlikely. Any attack on their part would be their doom. And they know it.
USSR had nukes…did they ever use them, even after threatening the world with them for 30+ years?
NUKE TERRAN and turn the whole country into a wasteland or a real big bay:mad:
“Iran is thinking: “Who would be crazy enough to invade/attack Iran if we had nuclear weapons at our disposal?—
I think you’re on to something there. Despite what President Ahmadinejad says; they are very unlikely to nuke Israel. But from their point of view two of their neighbors have been invaded and taken over by America.
Don’t you think we would be a little nervous if some country had taken over Mexico and Canada and declared America to be evil?
20-Don’t you think we would be a little nervous if some country had taken over Mexico and Canada and declared America to be evil?
Do you really think we wwould allow someone to just take over those 2 countries?
Of course not. But that is basically what happened with Iran.
“USSR had nukes:did they ever use them, even after threatening the world with them for 30+ years?”
Except that the Russians, whatever they were, were not maniacs who didn’t care on whit for life, in fact, prefer to die so they c an collect their reward.
The only reason MADD succeeded is because they didn’t want to die either. The Islamofascists have no such inhibitions.
I am surprised you would even come up with a comparison like that. tsk, tsk.
“Except that the Russians, whatever they were, were not maniacs who didn’t care on whit for life, in fact, prefer to die so they c an collect their reward.”
I dunno, Robert. There was quite a bit of fear mongering on our side over those Godless, Soulless Soviets, remember?
I’m just saying there is a lot of hype about our enemies that isn’t always necessarily true.
“The only reason MADD succeeded is because they didn’t want to die either. The Islamofascists have no such inhibitions.”
While there absolutely are Islamic radicals out there who would love to be martyrs, I seriously doubt that the percentage of people, specifically Iranians, actually willing to die is a handful of a fraction of the total.
So while the two (USSR and modern Iran) are of course not the exact same situations, I think the belief in M.A.D could be applied to both nations leaders. It would be suicide for Iran to use a nuclear weapon on Israel or on US forces; the response would be overwhelming and decisive.
Iran Rejects Statement It Would Hit Israel
“The Iranian military on Wednesday rejected a statement from a top Revolutionary Guards commander that Israel would be Iran’s first target in response to any U.S. attack, an Iranian news agency reported.”

“The only reason MADD succeeded is because they didn’t want to die either. The Islamofascists have no such inhibitions.”
Uh, I meant MAD. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is doing just fine…
34–I was wondering about that!
Once Again let me point out that Iraq did in fact have Chemical weapons and the equipment to enrich uranium. They also had the technical knowledge to produce biological weapons even if they didn’t have a supply of them at that time. They also had tens of thousands of lbs of enriched uranium. A lot of the Uranium was so enriched as to be near enough to weapons grade that it had to be removed from Iraq for safe keeping. If you keep spouting that Iraq didn’t have any WMDs, you are either totally ignorant of the facts or lying. I am sick and tired of listening to the same lies being spread as facts after I have repeatedly corrected that misconception.
Now as for Iran, for them to claim that they only want Nuclear energy for power flies in the face of their actions. The US and Russia agreed to a plan by which the Russians would enrich the uranium for the Iranian power plants as a means to insure that the Iranians don’t enrich it to weapons grade. The Iranians have refused to accept this. What so many liberals seem to fail to understand is that Iran has serious ties to terrorists and have for decades. They’ve been providing material support to the terrorists in Iraq. Why is it that everyone wants to believe that Iran, with all of the modern technology and the proof that it can actually be done, will take longer to create an atomic bomb than the US did during WWII? There’s a huge difference in technology, there’s a Pakistani physicist who’s selling the technical know how to the highest bidder, and God only knows what our EU allies have been selling Iran. Looking at France, Germany, and Russia’s history of involvement in the Oil for Food scandal, how can we trust them to not just sell the Iranians what ever they want? Iran has bragged as to how they’ve been lying to the EU throughout the entire negotiation process.
Honestly, a major military engagement against Iran would be a bad thing. I would recommend that we use special operations forces to slip into the country and use tactical backpack explosives or laser guided munitions to make the sites appear to be nuclear accidents.
Of course with Idiots like Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) publically questioning John Bolton as to whether we currently have special operations troops infiltrated into Iran doesn’t make things any easier. I honestly believe that Kucinich is either an idiot or an enemy of this country. Whether we have special operators in Iran or not, he just jeopardized ANY chance we might have of ever doing so. How the hell are we supposed to be even gathering intelligence on what they are doing when Idiot Democratic Senators start asking militarily sensitive questions in a public forum? To demonstrate Kucinich’s stupidity, I just have to ask would it make ANY SENSE to give militarily sensitive intelligence to people who don’t need to know? Even if we are there, John Bolton doesn’t need to know. With Dennis Kucinich’s total lack of understanding of military and intelligence gathering operations and the level of security that they require, HE definitely must not be told of ANY military or intelligence operation.
The really bad thing about the inteligence picture is that if you get good intelligence and tell the libs before you act on it, they’ll call the enemy (Jay Rockefeller telling Syria that the US was going to invade Iraq) and the press (Jay Rockefeller and the NSA intercept program)and let them know you’re coming. Then when the operation fails, they claim that the planners failed to plan properly or that they were against it from the start. If you do act on intelligence before telling them, they scream bloody murder that you’re circumventing the checks and balances in the Constitution (a lie). This is especially true if the operation succeeds. They’ll never keep a secret if the divulging of it will benefit them politically no matter how many soldiers will die from their indiscretion.
As long as this war on terror continues we mustn’t allow the Democrats to regain control of the White House. They simply lack the ability to understand military and intelligence operations.

Yeah, and who was it, Rockefeller? that was leaking secrets to the press. I could just imagine some Quisling on the Armed Services Committee leaking and mucking up a successful operation.
I think some of the known untrustworthy Congressional critters should be taken off these committees and kept lke mushrooms indefinitely. If their constituents don’t like it, well, they can elect someone else.
