Bush’s Appointees Not As Diverse as Clinton’s

Well, that is according to a new report by House Democrats. The WaPo took the time to dissect this study

According to the report by the Democrats:

Women made up about 37 percent of the 2,786 political appointees in the Bush administration in 2005, compared with about 47 percent in the Clinton administration in 1997, according to the report and supplemental data released last week by the Democratic staff of the House Government Reform Committee. Similarly, about 13 percent of Bush administration appointees last year were racial minorities, compared with 24 percent in the fifth year of Clinton’s presidency, the report found.

And what the WaPo found:

What the report does not mention, however, is that Bush has established a record of diversity in his Cabinet. Bush’s Cabinet, which includes the vice president and the heads of 15 executive departments, currently has two Hispanics, two African Americans and two Asian Americans. Three departments — State, Education and Labor — are headed by women, and a fourth, Interior, has an acting secretary who is a woman.

Before Bush took office, no minority had occupied any of the four highest-profile Cabinet positions — attorney general and the secretaries of the Defense, State and Treasury departments. Now, Alberto R. Gonzales, a Hispanic, is attorney general. Condoleezza Rice is the first African American woman to be secretary of state; her predecessor, Colin L. Powell, was the first African American named to that post.

So am I to understand that the Democrats want less diversity in positions that matter and more diversity in positions that don’t matter as much?

  1. am I to understand that the Democrats want less diversity in positions that matter and more diversity in positions that don’t matter as much?

OF COURSE!!! They want their slaves on the plantation..not in the house.

  2. I am starting to believe that Mike. How could any intelligent person release such drival in good consious?

  3. 2. “starting to believe”

come on..the proof is in the pudding, peejz. The democratic party is the part of out and out racists, there can be no denying.

Look at how they treat conservative blacks!!! “Uncle Tom’s” “Aunt Jemimah’s” the cartoons attacking condi rice??

sure, they want to keep all their slaves poor and ignorant, and believing in the “evil, racist, white male, republican” so they keep pulling the dumbocrat lever like sheep… but do they let them into the house????? NOPE!!! Will the let their children escape from the baby-sitting gulags??? NOPE!!! Do they respect their religious beliefs?? NOPE!!!

For dumbocrats, the only good black, is a drunken ignorant black…..their target demographic.

“The democratic party is the part of out and out racists, there can be no denying.”

Mike, how can you say that when 90% of blacks vote for the Democrats?

Or when 60% (and soon to be more!) of Hispanics vote for the Democrats??

Guy, you can pull whatever you want out of your a**, but it certainly won’t make any of it true!

Party of racists, LOL…then WHY DO THEY OVERWHELMINGLY VOTE FOR US?

  5. And, btw, it is the “Democrite” party.

  6. San Francisco Liberal

I dont’ get it, I know you explained it once, but I forgot….

    whats the crite for, again?

  7. As in Hypocrite.

  8. 4-Mike, how can you say that when 90% of blacks vote for the Democrats?

Or when 60% (and soon to be more!) of Hispanics vote for the Democrats??

Shall I go through the edit mode and confront you with all the posts that you have made in which you treat these people as a vote and nothing else?

You got them to vote for you and then you keep them down with social welfare programs. What exactly have you done to bring the poor blacks out of poverty?

  9. 8. Peejz..what makes you think the dumbocrats want them out of poverty?????

    they LOVE poverty…they LOVE racism

without those…..they would cease to exist.. the dumbocrats are in the business of keeping ignorance, poverty, illiteracy, racism around for as long as humanly possible..to ensure those 90% numbers.

Like I told you many times, SF… you know who gets 90%+ of a vote? Saddam…Fidel….Kim Jong-Il…..

Blacks have put all their eggs in the dumbocrat basket..and what good has it gotten them? NOTHING. table scraps…worse, the dumbocrats REFUSE to let their children escape from those babysitting gulags you people call “public schools”

with “friends” like the dumbocrats, blacks hardly need enemies.

“Shall I go through the edit mode and confront you with all the posts that you have made in which you treat these people as a vote and nothing else?”

You must have misunderstood them, then. It’s not enough that they vote Democrat, the Democratic platform needs to be able to hold onto those voters…and they do.

The Democratic Party platform obviously appeals to minority voters.

Until your side gets even 20% of the black vote, you can’t say sh*t about the Dems not catering to the needs of minorities.

  11. San Francisco Liberal

“Like I told you many times, SF: you know who gets 90%+ of a vote? Saddam:Fidel:.Kim Jong-Il…”

And like I’ve told you before, you’re just jealous that your party platform doesn’t appeal to minority voters.

Face the reality here guys, your ideology is just not appealing to blacks and Hispanics.

Gnash your teeth about it, stomp your feet, and call Dems racist, but until you correct your ideology to appeal to minority voters, you team will be S.O.L. on this for years to come.

    Sorry.

  12. 11. I agree, as long as you keep your slaves poor, drunk and stupid, I’m quite sure they will be paid in Kools, driven to the polls and vote dumbocrat like sheep.

and yet we still win EVERY national election..imagine if even a quarter of blacks in america caught on to the dumbocrat rouse…..

  13. 10- I didn’t misunderstand anything. Your words are what I am reading. It is the promise of giving them welfare that appeals to them. I am glad to not be a party to that.

  14. San Francisco Liberal

“…as long as you keep your slaves poor, drunk and stupid”

Well there you go right there, Mike! When stop talking about and think about these people like that and maybe you might attract some of them over to your side.

  15. San Francisco Liberal

“It is the promise of giving them welfare that appeals to them.”

    Uhhh, nooo…

Tell you what, why don’t you get out of your little republican middle-class ivory tower, in your comfortable little suburban home and actually TALK WITH SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE.

Ask around, and ask the hard hitting questions about why most of their communities vote for the Democrats all the time.

    You might learn something. (!)

  16. 15- I just might need to do that as you don’t seem to answer as to why they do it. Should I ignore the ones that tell me it is for the welfare?

  17. 14-Well there you go right there, Mike! When stop talking about and think about these people like that and maybe you might attract some of them over to your side.

as opposed to the way you refer to them as a sure vote? They are your meal ticket.

  18. San Francisco Liberal

“I just might need to do that as you don’t seem to answer as to why they do it. Should I ignore the ones that tell me it is for the welfare?”

Well, I’m not black, so I can’t speak for the group on this, but from the friends I have in the community most of them say the same things:

The republican agenda of favoring the wealthy over the poor just doesn’t appeal to them…and then there’s the whole guilt-by-association with republicans being WASP racists…

Plus, many blacks are more pro-union…

That’s just from what I hear. I can Google it a bit, if you want me to…

But, it’s not that it’s about the “free” money of welfare, but the availability of social safety net programs and the support the Democrats give to those programs.

Seriously Peejz, if there any blacks left in Western Michigan other than in Grand Rapids, try and find some to ask if and why they support the Dem Platform…

  19. like I said….saddam used to get 90%+ of the vote

only the truly fooled, bamboozled, hoodwinked would so blindly follow the very people who have enslvaed them in dependency, shackled their children in child abuse factories, consistently oppose their views on religion, gay marriage and abortion….

  20. San Francisco Liberal

“like I said:.saddam used to get 90%+ of the vote”

You can say it all you want, but it’s not an accurate comparisson, Mike.

The elections in Iraq for Saddam were TOTALLY, 100% different than the elections here in the US that minorites vote in.

For one thing, we have free elections with other candidates on the ballot to choose from. (!)

  21. oh really? and how do cats voting, dead people voting, vote buying with kools and malt liquor, free rides to polls, and violence by NAACP racist thugs and union goons factor into those “free elections”?

  22. If there truly were free and fair elections, Bush would have CRUSHED Kohn…..

  23. San Francisco Liberal

    Peejz, a handful do exist, I won’t deny that…

  24. Hey peejz..wait until you see the next governor of the great state of Pennsylvania…none other than…are you ready??? Super Bowl X MVP The GREAT LYNN SWANN!!!!

but he’s probably just an “uncle tom” eh, SF??? a house nigger????

The lie will be exposed, eventually…. Republicans ARE the party of inclusion..of equal opportunity for all, of color blindness….

  25. San Francisco Liberal

“If there truly were free and fair elections, Bush would have CRUSHED Kohn…”

    Yeeeeaaaahhh, riiight.

“…and how do cats voting, dead people voting, vote buying with kools and malt liquor, free rides to polls, and violence by NAACP racist thugs and union goons factor into those “free elections”?”

The following from a republican magazine

“Voter fraud occurs in both Republican strongholds such as Kentucky hollows and Democratic bastions such as New Orleans. When Republicans operated political machines such as Philadelphia’s Meehan dynasty up until 1951 or the patronage mill pf Nassau County, New York, until the 1990s, they were fully capable of bending ” and breaking ” the rules. Earl Mazo, the journalist who exhaustively documented the election fraud in Richard Daley’s Chicago that may have handed Illinois to John F. Kennedy in the photo-finish 1960 election, says there was also “definitely fraud” in downstate Republican counties “but they didn’t have the votes to counterbalance Chicago.”

  26. 22–Oh really? and how do cats voting, dead people voting, vote buying with kools and malt liquor, free rides to polls, and violence by NAACP racist thugs and union goons factor into those “free elections”?

Ok, I have to see your source. I’ve never heard of cats voting….

  27. San Francisco Liberal

“The lie will be exposed, eventually:. Republicans ARE the party of inclusion..of equal opportunity for all, of color blindness…”

LOL…sure they are Mike. Sure they are. You guys are SO inclusive with your 11% of voting blacks…

And after your mans performance during the Katrina crisis…it’s gonna be a lot harder for you guys to catch up with us.

We’ll see how this whole anti-migrant, pro-english-only thing will work out for you guys and Hispanic voters this coming election…

  28. we’ve been doing pretty well in November lately…in case you haven’t noticed.

  29. 27..you asked for it…YOU GOT IT

The American Center For Voting Rights (which is headed by a Democrat, oddly enough) announced on Aug. 2 that Philadelphia tops the list for voter fraud and intimidation

Here’s a summary of what ACVR found during the 2004 presidential election:

Republican volunteers violently intimidated by union members, who assaulted the volunteers’ vehicle and chased them in traffic.

At least 15 new registrants found to be deceased.

Many addresses listed for new registrants were in fact vacant lots and boarded-up buildings.

Polling places located in local bars, unsafe abandoned buildings, district office of Democrat state Sen. Vincent Fumo and private home decorated with Kerry sign in window.

43 polling locations inaccessible to the handicapped and 17 in businesses or homes where voters could be intimidated.

ACT and MoveOn illegally distributed and collected absentee ballots from prison inmates in at least one Philadelphia prison, according to news reports.

City voter rolls nearly matched census estimates of the voting-age population.

ACORN reportedly put inaccurate information on voter registration forms.

The Drudge Report is saying that some voting machines in Philadelphia were found to have votes pre-planted on them before the polls opened. Drudge did not say whether the machines in question are electronic, but EFF documents say that Philadelphia Country uses Danaher/Shouptronic electronic machines.

“Election after election, political parties, election officials and the news media act surprised when fraud, intimidation and suppression activities occur. Now everyone is on notice that there’s a problem in Philadelphia and those who don’t participate in a solution will be held accountable,” said Brian Lunde, ACVR Legislative Fund board member.

You know, we used to joke about Democrats who voted twice. We joked about Democrat dogs who voted. We laughed about Democrats in crack houses voting. We cracked up over empty lots, fire hydrants and telephone poles who are registered to vote Democrat,” says Philadelphia political commentator Tom Adkins. “It’s not funny anymore. Now, they actually vote.”

  30. now, if PA’s 21 electoral votes had gone to Bush, we’d be talking LANDSLIDE.

but this sort of Fraud enabled Kohn to steal philadelphia, and thus Pennsylvania, when he won only 9 of pennsylvania’s 67 counties…embarrassing.

  31. San Francisco Liberal

“we’ve been doing pretty well in November lately:in case you haven’t noticed.”

and in case you haven’t noticed, it’s been two years nearly since the last one, and your nteam has SUNK BIG TIME since then.

Bush is polling in the low 30′s, and the republican controlled congress is polling even lower.

    Wait and see…

  32. San Francisco Liberal

PA went to Kerry? haha…I forgot! Nice, go Blue State PA!

Mike, those 60 something counties that went to Bush probably have less population than the big city, right?

Philly has 6,000,000 people, right? That’s more than the people in the other counties, right?

What’s your beef then? That the big population centers out voted the suburbs?

    Good!

  33. yeah, the ghettos with the highest concentration of illiterates who will vote from whoever you tell them to, if you give them a carton of kools..

    congrats!

Kohn won PA by only a little over 100,000 votes with 5.6 million cast…. he won Phlly by 350,000 votes… now do the math.

If it weren’t for MASSIVE fraud, vote buying and intimidation in philly…he loses the state….and this dosen’t even address similar fraud in Pittsburgh, Allentown and other “Kohn strongholds”

  34. If you remove Philadelphia from the map (and trust me, most pennsylvanians would love to)…Bush carries the state easily…

  35. San Francisco Liberal

“If you remove Philadelphia from the map (and trust me, most pennsylvanians would love to):Bush carries the state easily…”

But since that isn’t going to happen, your team should focus on how to win over minority votes in upcoming elections…

  36. ..or on how to keep dead people from voting democrat..or on how to get a polling place out of DEMOCRATIC state senator Vince Fumo’s office…or on how to get moveon.org operatives from paying voters in kools…or on how to keep democratic operatives from attempting to register felons..or on how to keep dumbocrats from suppressing military absentee ballots…or on how to keep NAACP racist thugs and union goons from violently assaulting republican volunteers…

  37. You see, SF.. you keep touting your 90% of the black vote as some sort of badge of honour… you accomplish it with LIES!!! We are honest about our policies

Blacks overwhelmingly are more religious – Republicans are the party that is friendly to god fearing americans (though I’m not one)

Blacks are overwhelmingly against gay marriage – Republicans are against gay marriage

Blacks are majoitively pro-life – Republicans are the pro-life party

blacks are desperate to get their children out of the failed public schools – republicans are the party of school choice.

how else can you possibly explain black support for democrats, other than a giant campaign of LIES, FEAR, Fraud and racism?

Please tell me one democratic party platform that actually HELPS black in this country??? (exterminating an entire race by murdering babies in the womb dosen’t count.)

  38. 27- Alyssa do some research. It really does exist!

  39. San Francisco Liberal

“…you keep touting your 90% of the black vote as some sort of badge of honour: you accomplish it with LIES!!! We are honest about our policies”

#1. It’s NOT accomplished with lies; it’s accomplished with an overall PLATFORM THAT THEY AGREE WITH.

#2. You guys are NOT honest about your polices, otherwise you would admit that rich people OVERWHELMINGLY benefit from your fiscal polices, and that your party is unnaturally beholden to Big Business interests.

“Please tell me one democratic party platform that actually HELPS black in this country???”

    affirmative action

A policy or a program that seeks to redress past discrimination through active measures to ensure equal opportunity, as in education and employment.

  40. 40- It makes perfect sense that those that pay more, receive more benefits. Hence: April Tax Revenue 2nd-Highest in History

Those big/small business interests keep the economy going. Rather than demonize the employer, we embrace them.

Norah Vincent said it best: Conservatives do not oppose affirmative action because they are crypto-racists. They oppose it because they deem affirmative action itself to have become racist and, what’s more, unconstitutional in its current form, an outright system of racial quotas that blatantly discriminates not just against whites but also against nonblack, Latino or Native American minorities, violating the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

  41. San Francisco Liberal

“It makes perfect sense that those that pay more, receive more benefits.”

…to YOU it does, and your fellow Republicans, but not to Democrats.

And apparently, not to a majority of minorities, either.

    ————————————————-

“Those big/small business interests keep the economy going.”

Sure, but the Democrats believe that it’s also the WORKERS who keep the economy going.

Democrats and a majority of minorities feel that Republicans are to close to Big Business interests and not as sympathetic to workers issues as Democrats are.

  42. San Francisco Liberal

“(Conservatives)…oppose it because they deem affirmative action itself to have become racist and, what’s more, unconstitutional in its current form”

#1. Of course your team would think it’s racist.

#2. It has already been proven, in the right form, to not be unconstitutional. If it was, it wouldn’t be law.

  43. 42- from this source: Is Affirmative Action a law?
No. The US Government empowers the President to issue executive orders. Orders govern only federal agencies, employees, and persons or companies with federal contractual relationships. Executive Order 11246 issued in 1965 by President Johnson requires federal contractors to take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated
during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian or Pacific Islander, Black, and Hispanic individuals are considered minorities for purposes of the Executive Order. Therefore, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action are integral elements of a contractor’s agreement with the government. Organizations and companies without qualifying federal grants or contracts are not covered by Affirmative Action regulations.

    End to Affirmative Action Upheld

  44. “…:to YOU it does, and your fellow Republicans, but not to Democrats.”

No, certainly not. And not to Lenin or Marx either!

    Liberals/Socialists/Communists/Democrites. All variations on a theme…

  45. 42-Sure, but the Democrats believe that it’s also the WORKERS who keep the economy going.

Democrats and a majority of minorities feel that Republicans are to close to Big Business interests and not as sympathetic to workers issues as Democrats are.

Well, I am not sure how you can say that with a straight face. You are all for illegals coming in and taking the jobs from these workers. Yes workers are a part of what keeps the economy going. They get paid for the job they do, but lets not pretend that the guy working on a GM line at $54.00/hr with benefits, can’t be replaced with a $24.00/hr with benefits employee. The more education one has, the more opportunities one has. And last time I checked, education was mandatory for every child under the age of 16 in this country. Schools are failing in lower economic areas not because of funding, but because the schools have become war zones. Start ridding the schools of the trouble makers and concentrate on those that want to be there and you will get success. As it stands, the trouble makers set the education standards.

  46. San Francisco Liberal

“You are all for illegals coming in…”

Let me stop you right there. It’s not that I am for “illegals coming in” – because just like everyone else in this debate I wish there didn’t have to be people in that situation, I just am not for harsh or ineffective counter measures to help solve the problem. Felonies for migrants, a border fence, etc…I oppose.

“…but lets not pretend that the guy working on a GM line at $54.00/hr with benefits, can’t be replaced with a $24.00/hr with benefits employee.”

Sure, I understand that, but there are issues that go hand in hand with a situation like that…higher paid jobs probably retains workers who are experienced and trained, while lower paid workers could increase turnover and might lower productivity…

It’s not black and white / lets pay the cheaper guy and expect the same results., I think.

I’m not for illegals, I’m for progressive, realistic policy to deal with the migrant worker issue.
