NCOs Note Differences Between What They See and What They Hear
From The Defense Link News:
CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq, May 10, 2006 – It’s the e-mails and calls from home that gave the soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division their first clue that something is becoming different about the will of the American people.
“All this time I thought we were winning,” said a sergeant first class sarcastically. “Seems folks back home have already run up the white flag.”Some 4th Infantry Division noncommissioned officers were discussing the flood of e-mails they receive from family members and friends about the constant danger they are facing in Iraq. Though they asked not to be identified by name for this article, the NCOs said they believe the news media highlight explosions and murders over any sign of progress in Iraq.
“I see progress every time I go outside the wire,” said a platoon sergeant. “Just look at the progress the Iraqi army has made.”
The NCOs, many with years of infantry experience, said the Iraqi army has made tremendous strides since standing up just two years ago. The difference between the Iraqi National Guard that first stood up in the aftermath of the fall of Saddam Hussein and today’s Iraqi army is night and day, said an NCO who served with the 101st Airborne Division in 2003’s initial combat in Iraq.
I, for one am not waving a white flag! The work is difficult, but our troops are doing a fine job!

Well according to the MSM and the Democrites:
1. We are losing the war in Iraq.
2. The Iraqi forces are useless and full of infiltrators.
3. The Iraqi people don’t want us there.
Surely the MSM and the Democrites know more than the troops that are actually there, fighting alongside the Iraqi forces, talking and interacting with the people every day, seeing firsthand what is taking place.
Yes, those writers and newsreaders are the ones that know the real story! They are so smart, so intellectual, so omniscient that they can discern what is really going on in Iraq from the comfort of their desks in New York.
Democrite talking points in one hand, BHDS membership certificate in the other, they churn out a constant stream of opinion disguised as news, likely never concerning themselves with the accuracy of what they are spouting.

Just keep in mind that during WWII, the headlines about us wasn’t much better! The New York Times ran a series of news stories in late 1945 reporting, in part, the following:
“Germans Reveal Hate of Americans,” October 31, 1945
“Loss of Victory in Germany Through U.S. Policy Feared,” November 18, 1945
“Germans Declare Americans Hated,” December 3, 1945
An exhaustive compilation of opinions of Germans in all walks of life on their reaction to the United States occupation of their country was released this afternoon from the confidential status under which it was submitted to officials of the United States Forces in the European Theatre recently.
Bitter resentment and deep disappointment was voiced over the Americans’ first six months of occupation, though there was some praise for the improvements in transportation, health conditions, book publishing and entertainment.
“German Election Set In Towns of U.S. Zone,” December 19, 1945
Same headlines different war:roll:

How about that! And I thought the NYT campaign of undermining America had started in relatively recent times.
Maybe they should just go through their archives, dig up old stories, and recycle them. Just do a search and replace for Germans/Germany, and replace them with Iraqis and Iraq. They coulkd really save some money that way; they wouldn’t even have to pay the weasels and worms for writing this drivel any more.
Heck, if they digitized their archives, put the information a database and got some smart programemrs in there, they could develop an automated function called “RoboNews”. You input the latest topics, such as Democrite talking points, and the RoboNews application automatically begins searching the database for stories that are compatible or applicable. It parses them for applicability, selects the top ones based on presettings, then does the search and replace. It then generates the story, even cutting and pasting parts of other stories as necessary.
You could have a menu-driven settings capability that could customize and spin things any way you want. For example, you have a whole file of keywords, like oil, gas, energy, etc. Then from the menu, you select Bush, Cheney, Halliburton. When RoboNews parses the story, it automatically puts in Bush, Cheney, and/or Halliburton anywhere it finds the keywords. So say RoboNews found an archive story about oil in Germany in WWII, that story then becomes about oil in Iraq and how Halliburton wants to steal it, plus how Cheney helped push us into war to steal the oil to raise the value of his Halliburton stock. See how well this could work?
The output is then edited by one of the boll weevils you previously had to pay as a “Journalist”, but now can pay a lot less to simply edit the RoboNews output file. A quick edit pass or two, then presto! You have “news” that is ready for the press! Now don’t laugh just because this is computer-generated; the stories will be as valid as much of what is being reported manually these days, and certainly as good or better than anything put out by a number of news icons, like Dan Blather.
In the era of computer technology, this could be the future for the NY Times and birdcage liners like it. Instead of a staff of “reporters”, they’ll just have an army of IT people busily digitizing archives and conditioning and formatting the data for input to RoboNews. Quality-wise, they are there already.

Look up what’s on the agenda for the UN over the 4th of July and you’ll see how the Democrats can get us into WWIII without even trying. The UN is holding it’s Convention on Small Arms conference with the stated purpose of developing a treaty to ban the private ownership of firearms world wide. Watch what happens if the Dems get into power and try to ratify that treaty.

That one issue is enough to get the U.S. out of the U.N., imo.

We should get out of the UN, and send there asses packing as well. It would save the US taxpayers a fortune, we could collect rent on that big building. The NYPD wouldn’t have to waste assets investigating crimes that are committed by immune diplomats.
Don’t think the Swiss will go along with it. EVERY adult male is required to maintain a select fire assault rifle, high capacity handgun, and a combat load of ammo in their residence. They only joined the UN in the last few years. If this passes, they’ll be back out of it even sooner.
For those who aren’t aware of the basis for the second amendment it is to insure the freedom of the citizens of the United States in two ways: To prevent a tyrannical dictator from coming to power by insuring the people have the means to physically resist the imposition of such a tyrant AND to prevent the invasion of the country by insuring that any invading army (save it seems the Mexican one) will meet a force of such size that its destruction will be assured.
During the invasion of Russia during WWII, the Russians had more soldiers than weapons to issue them. They would issue weapons to every other man and tell the second man to pick it up when the first was killed. During the ramp up following Pearl Harbor, the US had so few weapons in inventory that Drill and Ceremony was frequently conducted using broomsticks in lieu of rifles. Any army invading this country would discover a fact that has been proven time and again, we may fight amongst ourselves, but when we are put upon by a common enemy, we fight fiercely side by side. Robert, in case of emergency, you need a weapon stop on by. I’ve got you covered. San Fran, you’re closer and I’d offer you the same hospitality but I would be afraid it would offend your sensibilities. If not, come on over. Need lessons? Come early.
